Great unit at a reasonable price!!
This unit was smaller than I expected it to be, but actually itโs plenty large enough for its purpose. Digits are easy to read. I installed the sensor outside underneath my deck, on one of the upper boards. Then I put the display unit in my kitchen, only about 12-15 feet away. At first I placed the display unit on my fridge using the magnetic backing, but when I did that the display disappeared. It says somewhere in the manual that putting it on a metal surface with the magnets may cause it to have problems receiving the signal from the sensor. So a no-go on that. I put it on my counter top and it receives just fine. The external sensor I just hung on a nail. VERY easy install!!! Hahahaha I like how this unit gives a readout of temp and humidity for indoors and outdoors, and also a โtrend lineโ for each - is it rising, falling, or remaining fairly steady? Thatโs nice. Also, the readout on mine seems to be pretty accurate. Be aware that when you first install it, it will take some time (maybe 30 to 60 minutes) for the display to give accurate readings indoors. Takes times for the sensor to adjust, I guess. Ever since that initial period itโs been spot-on. Before looking these up on Amazon, I had no idea that these things even existed!! That is, external sensor sending wireless data to internal display unit. That is so cool!!! And amazingly inexpensive too. Iโm so impressed, that after I do a residential move in the next year, I plan to get one of the higher-end weather stations, that does it all - temp, humidity, barometer, wind speed, rainfall amounts, etc. THAT will really be cool!!! But for now, this little device works just find for my needs.

TP65 Far Exceeds Expectations
***Edit/Update: 11/24/25 This is a new added unit to my old one that was a workhorse for many years. I had to add one for the home with a new remote sensor because the old one got soaked in water. Nobodyโs fault. Still a great unit, fired right up. Really like this touchscreen thermometer! Definitely worth it! Original post: What a great hygrometer! I must say that after reading a whole lot of negative reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about buying this meter. There are however a few that spoke very well not only of this model, but also excellent customer service. And I agree 100%. PROS: Honestly it was a BREEZE to set up, though just to be sure, I watched the video tutorial posted under the listing. I did decide to use quality lithium ion energizer AAs to gain better life and stability in extreme temps. Once the batteries were installed, the remote unit paired right up with the base station. No fuss, no issues whatsoever. *Note - Yes, the battery tray on the indoor base unit looks counter intuitive, but itโs not difficult. As with any electronic gadget, it is wise to be gentle! Signal strength- Amazing! I havenโt walked the actual distance with a measurement device but I set the remote sensor around twists and turns, walls and load bearing structures to place out of direct sunlight in our front door walk area. Iโve tried every room in the 4BR home with zero signal drop. The only way I got it to โforceโ drop was to take it across the home & out to the furthest part of the backyard patio. (Far beyond 300 feet) No problem reconnecting with the base once itโs back in range either! It just automatically links up. Accuracy: What are the negative reviews about?? Iโve tested it from lows & highs, relative humidity with weathermaxpro and National Weather Service, and it is near identical to reports. Well within any degree of +- Id ever have use for. Talking <1degree, and that is subjective as temps vary from the tarmac where local temps are taken here in AZ. The rel humidity is spot on, and yep Iโve got a pro level Air Quality Meter that I cross referenced it with. Iโve set the remote sensor in different rooms, under sinks, front and back - all of which proved to me that I made the right choice in this purchase. Touch Screen: I havenโt even removed the clear protector from the display and itโs still easily tactile. I didnโt expect that being spoiled by pricey Retina displays. Itโs designed well, very user friendly, looks sharp, and most importantly, it WORKS! CONS: None thus far especially at this price point. Of course Iโve only had it set up running 2 weeks. So if any fails or glitches, Iโll update this review. We have a very hot summer ahead as well as the monsoon season which can be especially hard on the little things. Note: I inadvertently hit send before I finished and added photos. So Iโm doing that now. ๐ Re +- value between the local posted by Living Earth, it should be noted that we live higher elevation near the mountains so itโs to be expected that a few degrees cooler. The rel humidity in the bedroom is higher bc of a cool mist diffuser I use w essential oils for dry sinuses intermittently.

Therm Pro TP-65 REVIEW: My experiences with this Weather Station are pleasurable. It isnโt always within 2 degrees as description in the specs. It can get 4 degrees perhaps 5 degrees off the real temperature. On the other hand, it is within or around the 2 degree specs on this model many times. It does get right on the money on the temps at times. If you are after a thermometer that is 100 percent accurate then this model is not for you. However, if you are looking for a thermometer that is around the temperature and is usually around 2 degrees off the real temperature and can get 4-5 degrees off the real temperature at times then this thermometer station would be a good choice. My grading would be a B for the accuracy of this model. I do have the Therm Pro TP-65 and the Ambient Weather WS-11 Weather Stations and after testing both of them it seems at this time that both are very similar with accuracy. One is usually high as the other one is lower than each other. Keep in mind also, they are both around 2 degrees off the mark but can be at the real temperature. Throughout the day and night both are good thermometers and I would recommend both of them. On the other hand, I would select the Ambient Weather Station over the Therm Pro because of the extra features. In conclusion, I didnโt use online temperature to compare the real temperature results. I had at hand but not always able to use the red liquid thermometer and the Thermapen by ThermoWorks: model Mk4. Although the Thermapen isnโt a thermometer for air temperature it is always the same on my tests from the red liquid thermometer or about 1 degree from it. I do trust my Thermapen Thermometer because it always pass the cold ice test at 32 degrees and boiling water test at or very close to the 212 degrees (depends on your location for the 212 degrees for 212 degrees is for sea level). You can go back forth from cold to boiling water and the thermopen passes the tests. For cooking food the ThermWorks Thermopen Mk4 would be my recommendation for a good accurate food temperature. Is it good for air temperature? It wasnโt designed for air temperature however my tests show it is very close to my red liquid thermometer in my tests. At times the Weather Station measured by the red liquid thermometer is accurate many times and can be trusted for around this temperature thermometer. I look at it and know it can be off the mark so I consider it is mostly around 2 degrees off the mark can be on the mark and finally can be 3 degrees and not often over โ 4 degrees โ 5 degrees off the mark. Finally, I am happy with this Weather Station and I would recommend it for approximate temperature around 1-2 degrees maybe 3 degrees off the mark; at times can be 4 to 5 degrees off the real temperature. If you donโt get similar results, it depends on the method you are using for testing the thermometer for comparison. My method for testing my thermometers isnโt scientific and the final decision is yours but it does give references where it is close enough for me to consider for keeping a thermometer or returning it. I decided to keep both of my weather thermometers unless the results of the tests change dramatically in the next few weeks. I am almost finished with my tests and so far I would keep both thermometers. UPDATE: After further study the Ambient Weather W-11 Weather Station is a good buy โ continue to be recommended to be accurate around 1-2 degrees and at times can be 3 degrees and perhaps 4-5 degrees off the mark here and there. The main reason to keep it is dependable to give a temperature that is useable information to decide what to do with the information โ like approximate temperature โ to decide what clothing to wear โ is it humid or what the dew points is. I use it to give information for jogging and the information doesnโt have to be extremely accurate but I would like with decent accuracy. I have read other reviews here and perhaps the best solution is to try it for yourself and decide on how much accuracy does you want. Donโt get it if you want 100 percent accuracy because you will not get it most of the time. I get decent accuracy for my needs. Keep in mind, for the value it is unlikely you will get an extremely accurate device but it does serve a purpose of approximate temperatures with many useable features. The Therm-Pro TP-65 gives max-min temperatures for temperatures and humidity for indoors and outdoors. It is a decent Weather Station for daily temperatures and humidity and cost is reasonable. The Ambient Weather W-11 Weather Station would be better than the Therm Pro TP-65 for dew point for max-min temperature which is reset after the time you want it to be and many other features which are beneficial. Good luck picking one out. God bless your decision and enjoy the Weather Station. Return it if you donโt like it; I enjoy both the Ambient Weather W-11 and Therm Pro TP-65. Therm Pro TP-65 costs around $25.99 (doesnโt have all the extras) Ambient Weather WS-11 Weather Station: costs around $34.99 Thermapenยฎ Mk4 costs around $99.99 (at times on sale for $79.99) UPDATE 2: October 13th, 2018 Recently I had a problem with accuracy with the ThermPro TP-65 and I reported it to the company and they sent a new one out and got it in a few days. Excellent customer service and now it is working properly as did the other one at first.

Accurate and Sensitive, with Easy Setup
I'm actually going to take a bit of time and write a review, because I really think this product deserves it. I've only had it for around two weeks, but so far, so good. I got this wireless thermometer for a bit of an unconventional purpose; as a wireless way to monitor temperature and humidity (mainly humidity) in my Crested Gecko's vivarium. The setup I have really doesn't allow for devices with cords/probes, and reviews for thermometer/hygrometers that were actually made for pets were pretty dismal. So, after seeing this new ThermoPro product with great reviews, I decided to give it a try (my gecko has a pretty big viv and he loves exploring new things, so the addition of a small sensor wouldn't bother him). The outdoor sensor seems to be working great thus far, no major erratic swings in readings at all (unless I do something to make it change, like misting the viv). It's waterproof, but you do need to have it upright so that water doesn't enter the sensor at the bottom. It has a little hole at the top that I threaded a paper clip and string through so I could hang it on a vine. It also has a bright red light that flashes every 30 seconds or so when it sends data to the main monitor, which I worried might bother my gecko, so I carefully covered the solid plastic and red light with dark painter's tape, leaving all the sensors and compartment-opening-points still exposed, and now the light is not noticeable at all, unless you're really hunting for it at just the right angle. Adding the tape did not affect the temp/humidity readouts at all; they stayed the same after applying the tape as they were before. The main readout monitor itself is really nice. It took me a few tries to really get the hang of the controls, but since there's only 3 buttons to tap, it's not that hard. Touch screen is hyper-sensitive, and the backlight (which I thought I would never use) actually is handy since it's positioned in a room that gets hardly any light after sunset, and the numbers can be hard to see if I want to check them in the evenings. But this room is exceptionally dark; the contrast on the readout is more than enough to be easily read in a normally-lit room. As far as accuracy goes, I have to say that it is accurate simply because it says the same things several of my other gauges do. I have one mercury-style thermometer, one analog thermometer, one thermometer/humidity laser gun, and one analog hygrometer. Between all those devices, the numbers really don't change. If anything, I would say my temp gun is the least accurate, but only because it isn't measuring the temp of the air, but the temp of the material it's pointed at, which varies greatly. Therefore, its accuracy is not quite in the same category. At any rate, I just got up and checked all the gauges, and they're identical to what this ThermoPro wireless device says. I find it hard to believe that so many different devices could all be wrong in the exact same way, so I believe this one is accurate. Setup was fairly quick and simple, and took way less time than the directions indicated; so much so that I set it all up twice just to be sure I did it right the first time. Same results, so it looks like it's all correct. All in all, it's shaping up to be a great little device, and I'm glad I got it. It gives me peace of mind to know that everything's the way it should be in my gecko's home with just a quick glance at the screen (which I placed on a nearby bookshelf), and I love knowing the temperature/humidity of my own home, since I did not have any sort of fancy thermostat before (old baseboard heating). I also like knowing that multiple sensors can be registered, so if I ever want to actually put one outside, I can get one and easily do so. If anything changes, I will update this review, but as of right now, I am very happy with my purchase. :)

The model is quite average in it's design, functions and accuracy.
The model is average in it's design, functions and accuracy. Although mounted on a western wall, in the eaves under the overhanging roof of my house and out of direct sunlight, the unit still gives a less than accurate air temperature reading (by a margin of at least 5-10 degrees) when the western afternoon sunlight warms the rear wall of the house; even though the sunlight is not direct but is filtered through very dense pine trees! The base unit display is not easy to see clearly; the blue back-lit light is NO HELP in illuminating the characters on the screen! This is a poor design feature and has been remedied in the newer TP67 which is back-lit by a bright yellow light, as pictured in the listing promotion. This yellow light serves as a contrast to the black characters on screen and makes them much easier to read on the newer TP67, than the TP65 that I purchased. Unfortunately, I purchase the TP65 in November 2019 for $26.99 and just four months later, I note that the newer version TP67 is selling for just $6 more at $32.99; while the TP 65 that I bought for $26.99 is now marked down to $19.99! It looks like it was bad timing on my purchase; had I known that the TP67 would be available, I would have purchased it instead. Don't make the mistake I did by buying the TP65; get the TP67 with more features and greater display clarity instead. Not to mention an additional feature of the remote sensor having an enclosed rechargeable battery; a design improvement over the TP65, probably because weather fluctuations wear down customer installed batteries so readily.

Performs As Advertised
As I am outdoors for hours on a regular basis you can't always determine the temperature with a glance to see how people are dressed. That said I rely on a real time thermometer. There are many of them which are junk. This one is not. The product was well designed and packaged. It is evident thought went into the little items such as battery compartment access. I am of the opinion it is high quality for a fair price. The setup was very straight forward, and it took about 15 minutes for the outside sensor to settle into it's temperature. While it was "dialing in" on its temperature, which was cold, the unit accurately displayed "trending down" for the temperature. Having read another positive review for the unit, the only pseudo negative comment was the battery failed in very cold weather in a few weeks. That user installed lithium batteries and was satisfied. I followed that advice and installed two lithium batteries for the outside sensor to avoid unnecessary problems to replace batteries in bitter weather. Having used the unit for a while, although the numbers on the display are not as "tall" as some others, they are "BOLD" print font and very easily read. Regarding accuracy I have another digital thermometer, and the two of them register within one tenth of a degree. More than accurate to determine whether or not bundle up.

Third review because of inconsistent performance - so frustrating :-)
I received this item exactly 4 months ago. I purchased it for our RV. Things I like about this unit specifically center around the display. I like that it gives me the information that I'm looking for and nothing else. I wanted inside and outside temps as well as inside and outside humidity levels. Didn't need a clock function. I like the size of the numerals and ease of viewing and I like that they're similar in size (outside to inside). I installed the batteries that came with the unit and mounted it on the wall. After 3 months the outside temperature stopped displaying so I installed new batteries in the outdoor sensor. Now the outside reading would come on for about 10 seconds and then go off. 20 seconds later it would come back on and continue to cycle in this manner indefinitely. This was frustrating and brought me to almost post a 1 star review. Then today, on a whim I replaced the batteries in the base unit as well (which had been displaying normally) and that restored normal function. I have no way of knowing the quality or condition of the supplied batteries but suffice it to say, 3 months is not anything to write home about. The old and less expensive AccuRite Walmart units I used for years lasted for about a year. I also found the backlight feature to be useless. In a darkened camper, pressing the backlight button produces enough light to completely wash out the numerical images. In the attached photo, the camera lens actually picked up a portion of the display whereas to my eye, I could see nothing. Because I like the display I plan on keeping the units and batteries separated in a ziplock in the camper and only install batteries and mount it when we actually use the camper. I never had to do that with the AccuRite but they don't seem to offer that display configuration anymore. 8/29/18 - UPDATE - Changing my review back to 1 star. As it turned out, it wasn't that the unit needed new batteries, it was just that the unit needed to reset itself by reinstalling the batteries. Now in less than a week, I find it doing the same thing and needing to be reset again. Now, for no reason, the outside temp does not display at all and the inside temp switches to Celsius and the unit locks up completely. Pushing any or all of the buttons has no effect at all. Reinstalling the batteries rests it back to normal but then in a couple hours it goes back into the identical failure mode. This is getting ridiculous (not to mention frustrating).

Unit seems to be accurate
I ordered the TP65 to replace the remote transmitter on our LaCross weather station. That unit quit working after at least 15 years outdoors. The TP65 cost less than a replacement transmitter from LaCross, and it reports the same two functions: temp and relative humidity. I set it up according to the instruction in the owner's manual which was to put the batteries in the remote sensor first, then into the base station. OK, but I got no response from the remote. I tried all the suggestions in the manual, to no avail. It was pretty frustrating. By this time it was 7 pm on a Friday night. I saw that customer service was open until 8pm. So I called and got right through to a guy who knew just what the problem was. He told me to take all the batteries out of the units and reinstall into the base station first, then the remote, just the opposite of what the manual called for. It started working immediately, while I was still on the phone. The customer service guy said that the manual is written for cases where there are multiple sensors. So wouldn't it be easier on the customer to make that clear in the owner's manual? The unit has been working perfectly for over 48 hours now. What pleases me is that the indoor and outdoor temp readings match all our other thermometers, including a US Navy mercury thermometer outside. All the readings on three other thermometers are within less than one degree variation, often being exactly the same. I can't ask for more than that. I would recommend the TP65. Update June 2019: This unit is still working perfectly and staying within one degree at all times with my US Navy mercury thermometer. We are very pleased with the TP65.
