Does this work with a LG monitor purchased from Canada?

This is just a cable so it will carry any voltage up to a maximum (~240V in the UK). It is the device on the end of the cable you need to look at. The Canadian domestic supply (from what I can gather) is 110V / 120V which is lower than the UK. Check the monitor (label on the back) to see if it supports UK voltages. It might have something like Input Power = 100 ~ 240V which means it will work fine in the UK and as long as it has the D-shaped three pin socket on the monitor it will work.Hope this helps.

I have iball smps on my desktop computer which accpts 230 vac 50/60hz input. will it work? by mistake i ordered 250v cable and it is not working.

UK mains used to be about 250Vac. It's been gradually reduced to 230vac. If the cable can handle 250vac then it can handle 230vac no problem. UK mains is 50Hertz, USA mains is 60Hertz. That connector can handle both easily. It's unlikely but not impossible that the connector is faulty. Can you plug it into something else, try it at work? The SMPS is more likely to be faulty.
