Very nice, and unique, dutch oven
I need to mention right up front that I purchased this item. I am not a Vine reviewer who received it for free in return for a glowing review.I own a lot of lodge cast iron, both new and vintage. This camp oven does not disappoint when it comes to quality. It's heavy, well made, and the factory applied seasoning is A+. This thing is ready to cook right out of the box.The only small criticism I have, being that this is a special edition item, is that they could have made the lettering and the "Power Y" a bit more pronounced. The lettering could have been taller, or thicker, to make it pop a little more. I feel they kind of rushed it and could have put just a little more effort into it. Apart from that it's a quality American made product that, with proper cast iron care, will last for decades of use.4 stars for the lettering being a little shallow, but 5 stars for overall quality.

I love cooking with cast iron!
Lodge cast iron is a great product and awesome to cook with. I just received my 12" deep camp Dutch oven and the handle was not with it. I called Lodge immediately and they are sending me one asap! I still gave it 5 stars because it was quick with customer service and I can still cook with it even without the handle. Gota love cast iron!

Yellowstone Fans your Dutch Oven is here!!!
Fans of Yellowstone this is the cast iron Dutch Oven for you. This deep Dutch oven is for camping or outdoor cooking since the pot has feet to it, needs a built fire or coals under it. I guess you could use it in an oven, but I just use mine for camping. I have used it 2 ways, one had it sitting in the coals and the other had a tripod and hung it over a fire. The pot has a great heat distribution to it, it is very sturdy, and well made. It's made by Lodge probably the leader in Cast Iron pots and pans, so you know its quality.Do your normal cast iron seasoning method to the Dutch over before use and keep it oiled after cleaning. This pot will bring you decades of good food and camping memories.

As close as possible to perfect out of the box.
This is an exceptional Dutch Oven and exactly what I expect out of Lodge cast iron. I did think that this may have been a casting that is not as hardy as their other Dutch ovens just because of the branding and keeping costs down, nope it is hard cast and exactly like my 40-plus-year-old Lodge DO, almost.More than enough room for cooking anything within reason and quick to clean up to go from cooking dinner and getting that cast iron cobbler going for dessert.I've tried to find some fault with this and I really can't, there are no ridges from the casting, the lid fits perfectly and the bail is strong and sturdy.Earlier I said "almost", this is not a takeaway from this piece but a general observation of Lodge in the last few years. There is one thing that is not necessary but I find it works great for seasoning cast iron quicker and giving it that perfect smooth cooking surface, I recommend to anyone buying Lodge cast iron, smooth out the inside with a sander and/or fine emery pads to take out the little bumps that Lodge has been putting their cast iron for some time now.I know that any Dutton would love a meal I've cooked in their namesake Dutch Oven. Yeah, I know they ain't real but this Dutch Oven sure is.

Works great on my little fire pit!
I made fire pit chili today and it turned out fantastic! It was going to be wood fired, but my wood hadn't cured enough, so I used natural charcoal briquettes. My son did a second seasoning on the pot even though it came from the manufacturer pre seasoned, better safe than sorry. I only used one layer of charcoal in the bottom of my firepit to get started. The pot heated up really fast and maintained a good mid heat while I browned the meat and onions and peppers. Nothing stuck to the bottom. I added another layer of charcoal to keep the temp up while I added the rest of the ingredients and so it would simmer for a couple of hours. Even after I took this pot off the stove, it maintained heat for several hours. I had to wait for it to cool down so I could can the leftovers after we had eaten our fill. I had about 4 quarts of chili left to can. This pot cooked this chili beautifully. It didn't scorch and was really easy to clean. Took me about 5 minutes to clean it and reseason it for next time. I couldn't be more happy with this dutch oven. It is quite heavy, but that is expected with cast iron. I am going to try fixing gumbo and peach cobbler in this dutch oven on my next culinary adventures.
