Love This Movie
I have watched this movie over and over because it is such a positive, sweet story. What I really like is that two mentally challenged actors played the main roles. This is still a rarity; the only other show that featured a mentally challenged actor was "Glee" with the part of "Becky." Lily D. Moore was very good as "Kendall" and I understand she's been in TV series "Never Have I Ever" and guest starred in other TV shows. David DeSanctis brought such an honesty and sweetness to his character "Brad." I also liked Benjamin Ayres as "Nic", Brad's "brother from another mother", who watches over Brad after his parents died in a car accident. The only actor who I felt overacted her part was Erica Durance as "Emma." I understand her desire to protect Kendall, and Erica conveys that clearly with her portrayal of "Emma." But Ms. Durace played Emma so shrill, highstrung and histrionic for most of the movie. It seemed like her "Emma" could never relax. Other than overacting by Ms Durace, this is a wonderful movie for the entire family. I do have to say that Karen Kruper's portrayal of "Bev" (Emma's mother), did serve as a good foil to Emma's highstrung, constantly stressed-out personality. Bev was funny and looked a life with humor and had a much calmer demeanor. The story is about two mentally challenged young people who meet in a cooking class and fall in love. Kendall is an extremely talented painter. Her mother Emma supports her in everything, but when Brad asks Kendall to marry him, Emma is reluctant to approve the marriage. Brad and Kendall face roadblocks in their journey to the alter, but at the end, they prevail. The wedding scene is especially lovely. Emma also finds love with Nic.It would be nice if Hallmark could do a sequel to this movie, or feature more films with mentally challenged or special needs actors. My son is autistic, so both he and I would enjoy a Hallmark movie featuring actors on the spectrum portraying characters in a love story or Christmas movie.

A very moving movie.
I think all people should have one of this movie. It helps you realize that Downs Syndrome people have feelings too.
