Bought twice
I bought one for my mother because she uses her hot comb still on the stove, and I was trying to just not make her have to sit in the kitchen and do that. She absolutely loves it and says how quick she can get through her hair and she doesn't have to leave her bathroom while she's getting dressed to do it. So I bought myself one. Although I haven't used it based on her assessment it's great.

It get very hot
The hot iron gets very and work as expected. The iron is very light weight so you need a larger mat to under it in case it moves unexpectedly.

BLACK COATING ON COMB PEELING
Love the comb. For me the comb heated up very fast, easy to handle, and the short teeth of the comb excellent And pressing my hair was excellent. I'm giving a 1 rating because after having the comb for only 3 months (Feb 4, 25-May 4, 25). The black coating on the comb started peeling off into my hair. I was using the comb last night and noticed a big piece of the coating had peeled off. And the comb just shut off. What ever happened to the good pressing combs from back in the day. It's always a hit and miss with these pressing combs now!

A powerful styling tool designed for thick, coily hair
I've been on a serious mission to tame my unruly, frizzy hair lately, so I've reluctantly released my attachment to keeping things au natural and finally started experimenting with heat styling tools and hair irons. I had never used a hot comb before, so I was excited to give this Dan Electric one a try. I'll be upfront: I was a little nervous to use it at first because this tool runs really hot, and I was only using it at the lowest setting of 400°F. I made sure to apply a heat protectant before using it, which I'd strongly recommend. With that precaution in place, it worked well! It smoothed out my wavy hair and left it feeling noticeably soft. On the design side, the handle feels good in the hand, and the whole tool is impressively lightweight and compact, making it a great option for a travel styling tool. I also appreciate that it features keratin and ceramic glaze tourmaline infused into the comb, designed to help combat frizz and static. The safety features are solid, although the 60-minute auto-off feels a little long for my personal comfort level. Still, it's a nice inclusion. My one caveat: my hair is on the finer side, so a high-heat straightening tool of this intensity is probably more than I need. But that's a me problem, not a Dan hot comb problem. For anyone with thick hair, coils, or natural hair textures, or those with styling wigs and extensions, I think this would be an excellent addition to your hair care and styling tool kit.

Great hot comb for straightening but very hot.
I grew up using one of those old-school hot combs and definitely remember the burned ears, necks and foreheads that came along with them. I switched to flat irons decades ago and honestly forgot how much I actually love using a hot comb until trying this. This tool heats up very quickly and gets HOT…’ crazy hot. I appreciate that the power button isn’t easy to accidentally press while using it, and the comb itself is lightweight and comfortable to hold. Even though I didn’t personally use the anti-scalding accessory, less experienced users probably should because this thing can absolutely touch your scalp or ears if you’re not careful. What I really love is how smoothly it glides through my hair without pulling or snagging. I actually get much better results with this than with a traditional flat iron because I don’t have to mess with the chase method using a separate comb. This basically lets me do both at once, which makes the process easier and faster. The heat is strong enough that my hair gets very straight and actually stays straight, even in humidity. It gives that sleek salon-pressed look that I haven’t been able to fully achieve with some flat irons. My only real complaint is that the lowest heat setting is 400 degrees, which is extremely high. If you’re someone who wants a lower-temp option for quick touch-ups or to minimize heat damage, this probably isn’t the best tool for that. Definitely use a heat protectant before styling. Worth the price especially if you’re only using it on wings

Straightened Both 2A and 4C Hair Successfully
I tested this hot comb on both 2A and 4C hair textures and was impressed with the results on each. For 2A hair, it only took about 3 minutes to achieve a smooth, straight finish. On 4C hair, the process took longer—about an hour—but it still straightened the hair very well and left it looking sleek and neat. The comb heats up quickly and maintains a consistent temperature throughout use. It glides through the hair smoothly without snagging, and the handle is comfortable to hold during longer styling sessions. I also appreciated that it helped reduce frizz and left the hair looking shiny. For thicker, coarser hair, be prepared to spend more time sectioning and working through the hair, but the end result is worth it. Overall, this tool performed better than I expected and delivered excellent results on two very different hair types. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable hot comb.
