Prefer stability over weight
I needed a lightweight tripod for an upcoming photo trip. I researched tripods for two weeks, and knowing this tripod was on the "heavy" side (approx. 4 1/2 pounds with head) for a travel tripod, I opted for stability over weight. The 90 degree center post was also a factor. I purchased a $10 short (2" long) insert from a large online camera supplier that was made to go with the 190 series and I also purchased a $9 vinyl bag to put everything in for hiking to a shoot. The original center column is super light and I have it in the bag, but for a low shot, I prefer to keep my camera upright and centered over the tripod for most ground-level use. I already own a larger (and heavier) Manfrotto tripod that is super rock solid and I was not disappointed by the 190. At some point the extra 1.5 or so pounds of additional weight may begin to be apparent, but I just didn't feel comfortable (stable) with the lighter weight tripods that I tried. I needed something that would have no issue with a D7100 and a 150-600 lens.

Light, durable, easy to carry, great functionality
This has been one of the better buys I've made for doing camera work when I travel. It's lightweight, easy to use, and the adjustable position post is definitely a great bonus. I can't wait to pack this thing in my bag to travel overseas later this year, since it's so light and will fit in my bag. I may need another one incase I have more cameras on a shoot! It's a great match with the Manfrotto 502 Video Head

Manfrotto 190 Go Aluminum Tripod
Excellent build quality. Sturdy and easy to adjust once you get used to the legs. Light weight for its solid construction. Well worth the price, especially compared to so many lower-priced choices that do not support cameras nearly as well

Versatile quality tripod
Multiple independent leg positions & twist locks make life easy. Maneuverable center column which extends and locks out to 90 degrees is great for many applications. 3-way head is smooth, stable and has mulitple bubble levels for precision. Included Manfrotto quick release plate is great & allows seamless switch between camera bodies & lens collars.

Nice tripod, but with some flaws.
I ordered this tripod not too long ago, but sadly had to return it. The new M-lock on the legs is actually a hassle compared to Manfrott's traditional twist locks. The original twist locks is so fluid and simple. It only takes a quarter turn to loose and extend the legs. However, for the M-locks, you have to turn them 2 to 3 times to loosen up and extend the legs. Also, the rubber grip on the M-locks are very loose. They are not glued on or anything, they easily slip out of place when you are lightning the locks, which is very frustrating since you have to go back and re-align the rubber grip to the lock. Another gripe i have with this tripod is that the carbon fiber on the tripod is kinda weird. When you loosen up the locks to extend it, it is somewhat hard to get the legs out. It might be because of the grippy feeling of the legs. Its just strange. On a positive note, they tripod is very compact and lightweight. You could easily add any manfrotto heads to this tripod and have a portable, yet sturdy system. I would actually consider this a travel tripod, without the invert-ability function as you may see in other travel tripods. This would've been the perfect tripod, if it didnt have the issues that I mentioned before.

This is a great tripod! Very sturdy and too heavy
This is a great tripod! Very sturdy and too heavy. I was concerned it might be with the pan tilt head I got for it, but I was pleasantly surprised. The legs are sturdy enough not to bend or warp with use like other cheaper models tend to do. The twist locks seem pretty sturdy so far, even with a little sand and dirt getting in there. I would definitely recommend.

Versatile!
This is an excellent tripod for the most part, and I have a many tripods to compare it against. I'll like the pros and cons as I see them:Pros: - This tripod is quite versatile with it's reversible column that can also be positioned at a 90 degree angle. The 90 degree angle is great for: * Getting extremely close to the ground. This is great for macro and landscape photography. * Positioning the camera offset from the legs. This is excellent for all sorts of photos where the tripod legs would otherwise be in the way. - The quick locks work well - The overall build quality feels excellentCons: - It's designed for travel but, at just under 4 pounds, I'd say it's on the heavier side of these things - It's also on the larger side for a traveling tripod - When all legs are extended and locked, there is a bit more flex in the leg sections than I would like to seeOverall: - The main reason I consider this tripod a keeper for myself is it's very flexible center column. I've included one photo that I took with the tripod that required me to get very close to the ground and extend the legs away from the center. With most other tripods, I would not have been able to get the same angle for the photo. - I would personally love to see this tripod in a carbon fiber version. I'd really appreciate the slightly lighter weight!

Great tripod
This tripod is really great in terms of quality and functionality within my budget range, it is lightweighted, for aluminium material, and pretty steady for my 2kg camera, and shipping is also very fast, I would consider future purchase from here for camera accessories, great experience.

It's lightweight
I found the delivery to be super excellent... and while I haven't had the chance to use my tripod much, the little I did use, I was satisfied with
