Works as expected for short-term travel storage
Rapid-acting insulin such Humalog/Novalog is rated for "storage at 36-46 degrees F", but that refers to long term storage only. This product is NOT meant for long term storage, it is for situations like traveling when you won't have constant access to a fridge, ice packs, battery power, etc. It doesn't mean your insulin will magically get destroyed if it hits 47 degrees like these other reviewers are indicating. Opened insulin is just fine sitting at room temperature (70-77 F) and will not degrade all the way up to temps of 86F. I use a MedAngel sensor and in my experience as long as I keep insulin out of direct sun and I keep the surface temperature under 80, there is no degradation in performance. Once you get above 80 I have noticed the insulin becoming less effective. When you use a MedAngel, you have to select the "carry" mode and not the "storage" mode, and then it only alarms you when the temps are in the 80s. Those of you trying to use this cooler product in place of a fridge for long term storage are missing the point of it, and in fact the manufacturer specifically says it isn't for that.Anyway, the brilliance of this cooler is that it doesn't require access to a freezer, it's completely passive, and it is able to keep the insulin under the 80 F threshold for MULTIPLE DAYS. That is unheard of. Most ice-pack-based coolers out there will only last 5 hours, MAYBE 12 if you are lucky. If you put one of those in a hot locker at a water park, it may only last 3 hours before the insulin is too hot. Other passive tech such as the Frio insulin cases for example can't even keep it below 80 for more than an hour in high heat situations, and I have tested this with the MedAngel sensor. I have had multiple insulin vials get ruined by using those passive Frio cases, unfortunately. Something like this is much better for travel storage. That being said the product isn't perfect. I wish they made a smaller version of this that was more suited specifically toward insulin vials. I don't use pens so it is far too long in length and wastes space, but again I think it works well and works a lot better than other options for travel.

Not for me.
My Novolog Insulin is supposed to be stored at 36°-46°. This product keeps a consistent average temperature of 58°-62°. So this product is a fail as far as my situation goes. I will be returning it.
