It's really great to be able to get instant meat temperature.

It works, but not exactly as intended.
It works and I like it. Unfortunately, in order to use the thermometer I have to smack the back of it sharply on a table or countertop in order for the display to come on. Not really a deal-breaking problem now that I know the trick to it, but I suspect that it will eventually stop working. (Or I'll beat it to death against the side of my grill.) It could be that I just got a bad one or there's a problem with the battery contacts or something but when it gives out I'll likely buy a different brand to replace it.
