Midwest Hearth Fireplace Damper Clamp | Flue Stop Clamp for Gas Logs

I closed on out house and after home inspection it was said we needed these. Fireplace company was going to charge us $150 to come and install. Found these and 5 minutes later, the job was done.

Good quality product that met my needs. Two bolts included to tighten device to flue. I added a second nut to the backside bolt to lock it in place. I wanted to be sure that the bolts would not loosen over time and allow the device to fall off and drop behind the flue to be lost forever.

The item satisfies what I needed to keep the flue cracked open for my gas fireplace. It's not rocket science.

The code states that damper (flues) on fireplaces using gas log must remain open at all times to prevent accidental build up of carbon monoxide.This simple little device can be installed in any position which prevents the damper from closing.

We are trying to sell a home and the lack of a damp clamp was flagged as an item to fix. There were quite a few choices of clamps. I picked this one because there was extensive documentation and pictures on the product. This gave me everything that I needed to document the fix.

Even with only pilot light going you need to make sure your damper is never completely closed for safety… probably better to have it completely open but this is an essential safety device!Easy to install though I had to use the longer of the two bolts ( which was included)Cheap protection for you and your family
