Every wallet should have a magnetic removable piece like this one. You can keep if you need it, or use the magnetic piece on its own as it holds plenty and is very minimal. Or you could even remove it entirely and make the wallet thinner!

I enjoy the slim profile and the overall quality of the product. The magnetic insert is strong. Will buy again when this one eventually wears down. If you find something you love, buy two.

This wallet is not my go to wallet, but is nicely constructed.I'm not totally sold on the magnetic feature - I'd rarely need to pull the card sleeve and carry it without the remainder of the wallet.Nevertheless, it is a good wallet, durably constructed, the size is minimal compared to other wallets I've owned, and it has nice black color.Recommended.

This is a cool idea for a 2 in 1 wallet where one of the card sections is removable if you need to travel light, say at the doctor's where you just need your ID and maybe a credit card or something. The magnet on the removable part is very strong when it's oriented properly, but if you put it back backwards, it will still stick, but the hold is very light.The packaging is luxe-wannabe. The box slides out from the satin finish black embossed sleeve, and the inner box has some marketing speak embossed into it on black on black shiny lettering. The PROBLEM is that whoever designed it didn't get samples before running it because the FONT is OBVIOUSLY too small, and because of the foil stamping embossing, some of the letters are plugged up, making reading it almost impossible (see included picture). If they had taken a product sample before running them all, they would have seen the problem, adjusted the font size up (and probably bolded it) so the foil stamping wouldn't be a mess and the customer impression would have been MUCH BETTER.As for actual use, I like the IDEA of this wallet, it's just that when you're talking minimalist wallet, every millimeter counts, and the four stacked magnets (two on each side, one on the wallet, and one on the removable part) adds a pretty good percentage of the thickness of the wallet. The function is gee-whiz neat, but I'm not sure it's worth the bulk it adds.Finally, the durability of the leather and stitching is not super great. I have a wallet that is over 10 years old and it's still all together. This one is fraying a bit and a little scratched up after just weeks.So, all things considered, a swing and a miss for me, but I'm happy to see what they do with version 2.

Ekster makes all sorts of interesting products with a decided focus on wallets. This specific wallet is definitely unique and very interesting. I travel extensively and work remotely. I'll spend weeks or months in a high quality hotel somewhere and while I'm there I use two different wallets. One is my 'everyday carry' wallet and I take that with me if I leave the hotel, go out to dinner or whatever.The other wallet I use is a slim, minimalist wallet that holds my id, my hotel key card, a few credit/debit cards and a little bit of cash. They go by a variety of names but I call them 'Hotel Wallets' for obvious reasons. That brings us back to this product. At first glance, it's an attractive and functional--but still very basic--black leather wallet. It can hold a fair amount of bills and cards. It's not the most expensive wallet but it looks great and will definitely underscore your refined and understated good taste should you carry it around.But it has a trick up its sleeve (sorry for the pun)--if you give the card holder on the left side of the wallet a tug it'll pull right off. You'll be left holding what is essentially the previously described 'hotel wallet'. It's held into the main wallet magnetically and based on my limited testing it's a pretty snug grip. I'm still a bit nervous about the magnet--I've had several tablets which feature a pen that 'secures' to the device magnetically. I think I've lost at least one of these costly pens from each tablet when the magnet turns out to be not as secure as advertised.That reticence about the security of magnets obviously has nothing to do with Ekster and with this wallet at least I've experienced no problems whatsoever. Really nice wallet and a really clever design that I'd like to see refined a bit. Highly recommended!

This is a quality wallet with soft, smooth leather. The card slots are sturdy. It fits enough for my husband's daily use.
