Good quality alternative chain for AKE40
Having buckled our chain after hitting a knot or nail we urgently needed a new one. We were not sure whether to go for a Bosch or Stihl but having read the reviews we went for the Stihl. It arrived in a week.Fitting was straightforward just making sure you fully slot it in around the blade grooves before attaching to the sprocket. Make sure the blade is facing the correct way round. It was a good fit.You then adjust the tension with the screw and this needs regularly adjusting to make sure the tension is correct. Also the chain saw oil tank needs to be regularly topped up.You can use a chain saw sharpener file with the blade. The chain is durable and very sharp.Overall we feel that it is as good as the Bosch that we have used previously and we are happy to recommend. Thank you for reading this I hope you found it useful.

Excellent
Excellent and cuts logs like a knife through butter. Very quickly delivered and very pleased with the purchase.

As good as new
I use this on my Bosch AKE 40. It's a fine chain that even on close inspection I can't tell apart from the original. Chains do wear out, in my case in about a year of use and sharpening, but I've bought two of these over the years and I am very happy with their build quality. They last as long as the original.

Not as good as Bosch parts.
I usually use Bosch parts for my Bosch chainsaw but this was slightly cheaper so gave it a go. I don’t think it cuts as quickly as the Bosch and seemed to stretch as it aged. It also came off the cog once, unlike the Bosch, so will go back to them when this one wears out.

Cuts well, but beware of overheating the blade, you will blunt it very quickly
This blade cuts well but loses it's sharpness very quickly if it gets overheated. If you are sawing through a large log, the blade can tend to get clogged with sawdust which can lead to overheating, then the blade can lose it's tempering and this will blunt it very quickly. The proper Bosch blade tends to shed the sawdust better.
