NO this is not washable! It is fantastic for protecting flooring and disposable when finished with! We have used it for several areas and rolled it back up it is strong and very protective! Hope that helps?

Can it be used to protect carpets

yes sure you can - we also sell a fantastic self adhesive carpet protection film - established 20 years so well tried and tested

Will this withstand a weekly vacuuming for a couple of months?

This is not a carpet , the longest it has lain in autumn was a month and it has withstood several vacuums

Do you tape the seams on the porous top material or shiny back, if the latter does it stand up to being flipped back to porous side up need to join 5?

hi the shiny black goes floorside down. you walk on the porous topside - this absorbs any liquids split or tracked in. you can tape the shiny side and then flip it, as long as you have good strong tape.
