I am buying a roof rack with bars that are 34mm wide by 23mm high. Will this system fit please?

Hi Anne They should fit fine, The only issue I have with them is that the kayak is very close to the side of the car when lifting it I have bent my bar as it is aluminium and have got a longer bar made out of steel so when I lift kayak it is further away from the car

How is the sliding bar secured after you have loaded the kayak?

A spring loaded button goes into a hole which retains the extension bar either fully in or fully out.

Does that end bit stay up or does it fold flat.. Looks like it leaning onward? Would that scrape a kayak?

The end bit stay up like a little handle. That’s not the bit that scratches the kayak, it stops the kayak sliding off the end when it’s lifted. I found that the bar itself was scratching the kayak, quite badly actually. So now I just put a pool noodle or a towel over the bar when loading. Wish I’d realised sooner!

Hello will these work on a renault master van to carry one large kayak?

Hi, I have a standard hit cat with a 14' kayak. This works a treat on these two. On a van you will have to lift the front of the kayak high enough to rest onto the bar. Once on with the guide rope fitted you raise the rear ends and it slides straight on. So if you can lift the ends high enough then I can see no problem with loading kayak. Hope this helps.
