Would this stick protect the same way as the lotion type?

I actually find that it works better than the lotion.

My suggestion is that you check the ingredients for your self satisfaction. My opinion from what I read is yes, it is reef safe.

If an Aveeno product does expire, that expiration date can be found on the bottom, shoulder, or back of the bottle/jar, or crimp of the tube. In this case, there’s no expiration.
