The clear placemats are perfect for what I wanted them for. I put them on top of some fabric mats that easily get dirty when we eat. The clear mats showed the picture of the cloth placemats but at the same time kept them clean. Any food that fell on the clear placemats cleaned off easily. Looked pretty and no stains.

They are perfect on my desk where my cat food dishes are (up where the dog can't reach them). The cats are messy and this makes it so easy to clean up. I like that they are clear. They actually work as a mouse pad also!

Took 1 stars off because they do scratch easily, and the fact that the items were smaller than the description which made it unusable for my purposes. I don't want to cut them to size or double up with width wise but, needed them exactly as it was described. I've bought them more than once so the second time I was disappointed for this reason. I use them under fabric placemats on nightstands to protect the wood underneath, and under items that might scratch the surface of furniture or to prevent coffee from the Keurig splattering on my granite counter without covering up the counter-top since it's a clear placemat.

One of the placemats had scratches all over it, I was not pleased, but the other 3 were perfect. They are of good quality and lay flat, perfect size for what I need them for,

The reason most people think that these are cloudy and not clear is because there is a film on them that has to be peeled off in order for them to appear clear

Super thin and arrived with dents in it, not great quality.

Nothing fancy but, yes, perfect. They look basic - and are basic, but you cannot beat their usefulness and ease of cleaning. They really will last forever, which may be saddening to some people.

We use these over our tablecloth. They are perfectly clear. I am surprised that slipping has not been a problem. I like the look of a tablecloth, and now it stays clean for a lot longer!
