Not bad
Bought this for an elderly relative who wanted a simple alarm clock...no fiddly buttons batteries and nice and loud. However the winders apparently are too hard to turn and the bell not loud enough, so maybe not suited for the elderly!Looks stylish though!

Cheap clock
We used this for its loud tick, wrapped in a blanket, to comfort our new puppy at night by simulating her mother's heartbeat. It worked well and only failed after the pup destroyed it some weeks later

Not luminous
A nice looking clock. It's a real shame that you can't see it when you need to, namely in the darkness of the bedroom in the middle of the night, which is what I bought it for. My third clock purchase which isn't up to the job. If you need to see the time in the dark this is practically useless

Great old school clock
I bought this clock for two reasons and not becuase i needed an alarm , I needed white noise and something retro looking.for its monet its a great little clock , if you wanted to know the noise level than when there is no other noise this is very loud - however if you like a ticking clock or want the background noise then its perfect !If you needed an old school alarm then this wont be good for you as you cant set an exact alarm its more of a show piece...Its a wind up clock so no batteries. In summary a lovely vintage alarm clock that ticks loudly but cant be relied on for an alarm ..love it and I am not dissapointed , its british made as well

Unreliable
It's a real shame but, I have good respect for Acctim and I love mechanical clocks but since they changed the mechanism a number of years ago, these clocks are totally unreliable. They simply don't keep time with any degree of accuracy - half an hour drift in 12 hours is just unacceptable. The problem lies in the temperature of the room in which it's kept. Calibrated for a particular temperature; if this changes up or down so will the clock's time keeping - and in some cases, very badly. You will never get spot accuracy with bedside mechanicals, it's just not in their nature but, not more than 5 minutes in 12 hours I think is not unreasonable.

Vintage sytle clock
I had to replace my old travel alarm clock as it had become unreliable. This is perfect. It keeps good time and the alarm is loud. I also love the tick tock it's soothing.Lovely vintage style clock and it doesn't require batteries. Would recommend

I purchased this to place at the side of my new puppy's crate to mimic the mother's heart beat. It does have a strong enough tick for the purpose. The only problem I have encountered, the knobs on the back are too close together. When I have to wind it up, even though I have smallish hands, I find it very difficult to turn the wind up screw as the other knobs are too close.
