Very challenging to hold steady, but that is the point
I found it very difficult to hold the hanging ball steady. There is a place where the ball can rest to make it stabilize, where you will need to tilt the club, but I'm not sure over weeks of practice that would be a good thing, since it will be incorporated into your pre-shot routine. I'm not sure I want to do that every single time I need to make a putt. Aside from the complaint above, the device is very easy to attach to your club and to make adjustments specific to your putter and your line of sight. You will definitely learn to steady your hands as any rotation or flipping will become very evident. That is the whole purpose of this is to quiet your hands through the backswing and follow through. For that, it will definitely teach you something.

Great Training Aid for Straight Putting Styles
This training aid takes some getting used to at first. I have a straight path putting style that I somehow picked up intuitively based on my previous athletic play/sports and physics studies. I know others have an arc of some sort and struggle with this training aid. I would probably throw it up against the wall if that were the case for me as it would drive me nuts trying to reconfigure my entire putting style. This forces you to slow down your tempo but that is not bad as it helps define the mechanics and the muscle memory so that you can speed it up on the course: much like I do when coaching football and lacrosse basics and footwork. So it can be a great training aid but also a bit frustrating if you cannot figure out which a part of your swing is the problem (wing, follow thru, etc). But over all I recommend it for improving a straight back putting style.

I really wanted to love this trainer
"MeAndMyGolf" is my favorite 'channel' for helping to correct my absolutely horrible golf game and I really like both of the guys on that channel, so I really wanted to love this device; but I don't.The concept is novel; however, it is flawed. The main issue I have is that it is nearly impossible to figure out if you "hit the gate" during your forward swing or during your follow through. I performed several test putts at home on the carpet to test this device and each time, I contacted the gate, however, no matter what I tried, I simply could not determine if I contacted the gate during my forward swing or if it happened during my follow through. I had my son attempt some test putts and he had the same opinion. So, I took this device up to the nearest city course that offers a free putting green, and I experienced the same results. I think there are several issues with a device like this:1.) The ball hitting the gate just doesn't generate enough sound so if you are concentrating on a putt, it is virtually impossible to tell exactly when you hit the gate.2.) Despite rumors to the contrary, the human brain cannot multi-task and because of that, when you hit a putt, you instinctively look at where the ball is going; after all, you are trying to get the ball into a hole. But this compounds issue #1 because, if you have any chance at all of understanding if WHEN you hit the gate, then you need to focus on the gate.3.) If you focus on the gate in order to try and remedy #2 then chances are, you are only focused on the gate and you putt will still likely not be great.Honestly, I'm not sure I have a better solution but I could envision a device like this that is intelligent enough to know when the hanging ball has passed through the gate during a swing and give you an electronic audible feedback when you hit the gate in your forward swing, yet, be intelligent enough not to alert you if it occurs AFTER passing through the gate (meaning it happens in your follow through). Some may have better results than I have seen but my honest review is, even though the concept of this devices is excellent, the execution may result in you focusing too much on the device rather than the outcome of your putt.

Really wanted to like it
I'm a sucker for new training aids and I like the Me and My Golf youtube channel. I have some of their other training aids. As much as I tried, this just doesn't work for my putting style. I tend to have a slight arc and this is for forcing a straight back style. This is not to say the tool itself is flawed, it just doesn't work for me. If you have or want a straight back putting style, I do recommend as it is a solid tool.

Made for Straight Back Through Putting Style
I've been an Independent Professional Golfer who has taught golfers and competed on Tours for over 4 decades now. This is a VERY well made and designed Putting Training aide for the straight back and through putting style. This is "my" style of putting 90% of the time so this is very nice for me to have. It does work for Open the Gate, Close the Gate Arc Putting strokes/styles, but your speed and tempo will be a bit slower than what you would actually use on the course. This will however instantly show if you are jerking and not smooth with either style.I could go on and on about just how much "I" like this Putting Path and Tempo Trainer. I really was NOT expecting this to be so well designed and functional. I'd put this in the Top 1% of the Golf Training Aides I've tried out over the Decades. Well worth the price for what you get and the improvements I'm certain you'll realize by using this device. This is very Giftable. I most certainly recommend it.

Interesting putting practice device
I like the idea. I've been looking for ways to improve my golf swing when putting. This device might help over time. The shaft of my putter is a little too large to fit in the clamp, but it holds okay. I wish the rubber liner in the clamp was removable. That would solve the problem; however, it's glued in quite firmly. The product description says there are "Mini-Series Training Videos," but I didn't see a DVD in the package and I couldn't find video links in the booklet. I looked at the web site, but the videos I saw were mostly advertisements for the Gatekeeper. I like the product design, other than the clamp, and with practice I imagine this could help me improve my putting stroke.
