Great for hair growth
It really works! I noticed about 2” of hair growth by the time I finished my first bottle. The product does have a fragrance that is pretty strong, but it’s not unpleasant.

Truly a Lifesaver for My Hair
I've been using the Nioxin Hair Fall Defense Intensive Daily Leave-In Hair Treatment, and it has made a significant difference in my hair health. After consistent use, I've noticed a substantial reduction in hair fall and breakage. My hair feels thicker, stronger, and more resilient. The application is straightforward—just a few pumps massaged into the scalp daily. The formula is lightweight and doesn't leave any greasy residue, making it perfect for everyday use. The scent is mild and pleasant, which is a bonus.Overall, this treatment has exceeded my expectations. It's become an essential part of my hair care routine, and I highly recommend it to anyone struggling with hair thinning or loss.

Be careful of the strong fragrance
I’ve been on the hunt for a good serum that contains both caffeine and niacinimide as those ingredients are shown to help with scalp health and hair loss. This product checks all the boxes for me, but my one problem with it is that it is incredibly heavily scented. I have to be careful how much I apply because one too many sprays will give me a headache.

The Best
I absolutely love this stuff. I have tried so many hair serums at this price point & higher. This is the only stuff that has actually worked. I am perimenopausal, have hypothyroidism, had Covid, & a lot of stress. I went through a horrible shedding phase. The shedding improved significantly once I started using this stuff. It didn’t stop it completely & anyone who claims a hair serum can do that is probably lying through their teeth. But this stuff did help. I think the stress & post Covid hair loss just had to run its course, & I got my medication sorted for my thyroid, but while in the thick of all that, this stuff absolutely worked. Now that the excessive shedding stopped, I still use this stuff religiously & I do believe it has aided significantly in the strength & regrowth of my hair! I also love the smell too. It has a high end gender neutral sandalwood scent.

Strong smell, caffeine kept me awake
I have been using Nioxin night density rescue serum for over a year and seeing some results, but I don't like how oily it makes my hair, so I decided to try this Nioxin hair fall defense serum when it went on sale due to the good reviews. Good news is it isn't oily, but I realized quickly that I should have listened to the not so good reviews. I am apparently one of the few sensitive to topical caffeine and also the sandalwood scent. The scent is overwhelming to me and lingers all day, giving me a headache, plus when I used it at night I had trouble sleeping, I assume due to the caffeine. So it's back to the other serum for me. BTW, the reason I'm using such products is due to very fine hair that has been thinning as I age, and then 2 cases of COVID in 2 years made it worse.

Awful smell, caused eczema flare-up :(
I don't know how well this product works because I simply could not get over its pungent fragrance. Gross. Listen, I love Nioxin. I've been an avid fan and daily user of its various leave-in products for years. YEARS. But, this is the first Nioxin product I had to throw out because it just smells SO BAD. The smell is not only pungent and strong, it's just straight-up bad. It smells like an incredibly offensive men's cologne - like cigars, tobacco, whiskey, smoke, and alcohol. It's so strong that it caused an eczema flare-up on my neck!! That was the final straw for me - if it hadn't triggered that eczema flare-up, I would've done my best to ignore the fragrance and I would've continued to use this product to test its effectiveness. But, after just three (3!!) uses, my neck became super red, itchy, scaly, and inflamed. Once I stopped using the product, my skin completely calmed down. I wanted to give Nioxin the benefit of the doubt so, after a long pause, I picked this up again. Bad idea. Alas, just three (3) uses in, once again, my eczema flared-up like crazy. This is definitely a NO-GO for me. Nioxin, can you PLEASE make this fragrance-free or with a lighter fragrance?!
