Improve Your Theory! Grade 1

I can't recommend this highly enough, the style is so much more engaging than either ABRSM/Trinity workbooks. For the first time, pupils are asking 'please can we do more theory'! The variety of material keeps the subject engaging and exercises using your own choice of music make applying a rule/concept complexity tangible.

Really well laid out book and easy to use

I love all of Paul Harris' writing - simultaneous teaching works so well for my pupils. In particular, I have found his 'improve your aural' series to be excellent. This Improve Your Theory book (& I've only bought grade 1) has some excellent suggestions as to how to bring theory into your teaching without it feeling 'random'. However, I found that having to go to a website to download tracks that are an integral part of the series a pain, especially as I then faffed about trying to find a blank CD or memory stick (in vain) to use in lessons.In short, would have preferred a CD even if that meant spending a bit more...

I am an adult beginner in theory and this is aimed at children but is excellent for me -- except that the answers are online! This renders the book 90% less useful. I simply don't have constant internet access. The answers website is 40 pages of A4 which is a lot of ink to use up when I have already paid for the book. The answers should either be IN the book, or purchasable as a separate book.
