Great tablet, has brilliant potential
As it's a fairly new product, the tablet does fairly well and the software was thought through though there is a few things needed to bring this up to par with such things as a Samsung tablet or even an iPad. We desperately need a keyboard case for this, so many times I've been sitting doing something with split screen and using the on-screen keyboard just doesn't make sense, a keyboard case would give the needed protection when off the dock and make it a pretty good tablet for even doing work on. I can see potential for a stylus, could integrate well with keep and other apps.. it seems like Google may be cooking something with this and the keyboards. The dock functionality is truly revolutionary, the majority of the time it just works and the fact it becomes another speaker in a house with other ones is an added bonus, I love the little frog screensaver that can keep kids (and myself honestly) mesmerized for hours seeing what it'll do next.. one thing however, the dock... The dock itself is absolutely terrible, worse sound quality than a nest mini and even the original Google home, I don't know what Google were thinking trying to market it for roughly ยฃ140. Get a nest hub or pay an extra ยฃ70 for a nest hub max. This tablet severely needs a "Max" variant of the dock, it could open up the real potential of being a hybrid tablet and media station or the perfect aid for your kitchen, give me sound almost on par with the original Google home max and I'll buy that dock the day it comes out. 5 stars as the only let down is the dock speakers themselves, the docking functionally works quite well.

A good tablet with a helpful if slightly flawed dock
I should begin by saying this was an upgrade to my venerable Nexus 10 against which almost anything would be an improvement. I also don't place huge demands on it, my main uses being web browsing, emails, video and board game apps. With that in mind, I can't compare this to other modern tablets nor offer any comment on its performance playing the latest 3D games or carrying out demanding computational exercises. All that said, for my purposes it is a fast, responsive device and I have had no difficulty doing anything I want to with it. A controversial feature is its speaker dock. This provides a convenient resting place if you need the tablet accessible while doing other things. It is also the intended mechanism for charging (although direct charging via USB-C is also available if you have an adapter). The dock works fine, and is useful for me personally since I spend most of my time at my desk. However, I have found the dock's speakers to be a little lacklustre, honestly I don't think they offer much if any improvement over the tablet's built-in speakers (the dock speakers are more bassy, but that's not always a good thing or to everyone's taste). Attaching to the dock is magnetic. If you let the tablet find its own position the connection is reliable pretty much 100% of the time. Unfortunately simply "letting it go" snaps the tablet into place with more violence than I am happy with, so I generally try to ease it into position which connects first go maybe 70% of the time. I have added a Poetic TurtleSkin case which is very good but may be slightly biasing how I position the tablet - it's not a big deal. On the subject of sound, there is no 3.5mm jack so Bluetooth audio is essential when out and about. For me this was an added expense, but decent low-latency Bluetooth 5 audio headsets are available for ยฃ20-ยฃ30 so again not a huge problem. The screen is very nice - no complaints there. I went for the 128GB version which is more than adequate storage for my purposes. Again though, my usage is light compared to other people so assess this requirement based on your own needs. At the time of writing the device updates to the latest patched version of Android 14 and should receive updates from Google for some time to come. I am not a great fan of Android gesture-based controls as they make it quite easy to do something you didn't intend to. However, this will affect any recent Android tablet and it is possible to disable different gestures if they get too annoying. All in all I'm very happy with this and recommend it.

Love this device!!
This is the perfect device for my bedroom as i dont really watch tv, just netflix, youtube and amazon prime and this is perfect for that. the resolution is nice and the features the device has are very similar to the phones. the sound quality is pretty good too. the camera on it isn't great but is usable. a perfect bedside companion.

Good tablet poor dock
A solid capable tablet with a poor sounding and disappointing dock. The tablet slides off the dock and therefore can't recommend

The only tablet that can run GrapheneOS
I wanted an Android tablet where I can have greater control over how much data Google and other apps collect. Being a Pixel device, this tablet is currently the only one that is supported by the GrapheneOS project, which provides that level of control. The GrapheneOS installation process was easy using the browser-based installer, giving a minimal Android environment with zero Google apps installed initially. The Google ecosystem can still be installed, but it won't get privileged access and the ability to monitor and collect data on everything you do by default. The tablet performs well, has a nice display, and the audio from the tablet itself is surprisingly powerful, better in fact than the audio from the dock. When on the dock, charging cuts off at 90% to prevent battery degradation from constantly being topped up to 100%. The only minor drawback is the lack of a MicroSD slot, but that is to be expected from a Google branded product as they want you to store all your data on their cloud services.

This item arrived on time the day after ordering. The Pixel Tablet is working just fine with everything I've come to trust about in Google. This item is a welcome addition to our home.

Value for money
Excellent tablet, especially for under 400

Be careful that this seller is cheating. There will be no pixel tablet case included, although the seller advertises to mislead you that there will be a case. Besides, the price of this item is much more higher than usual (which also result in the illusionary that there will be a case included).
