Craftsman Quality, But Underpowered for the Price
The media could not be loaded. This is a sturdy, well made jump box. These lithium powered devices generally work very well. The only issue I have found with them, is the cabling and circuitry are not heavy enough for extended cranking. The first one I bought, I cranked too long (20 seconds or so) and it melted the solder that held the cables to the circuit board. I'd recommend cranking no more than 10 seconds or so before letting it cool.In my opinion, this jump box is overrated for the money. It looks impressive, feels heavy and solid but it's only 1000 amps and priced at $163. Now I'll grant, that Craftsman makes some great products and top notch tools, and that is certainly worth something, but in this price range you can find 1500 to 3000 amp models that look pretty good too. This jump starter is suited for engines up to small gas V8s and V6 diesels. It would not be suited for the 10 cylinder gas engines or V8 diesels used in larger trucks and commercial equipment. I will say though, it's quality is high and it has two foot long cables. This is longer than any others I've seen. The engine being started without a battery in the video is a 350 Chevy. With all that said, this is a nice jump box, just underpowered for the price. It comes with a USB charging cord and a 12 volt car charging cord that according to the manufacturer can charge it about 2 hours. It also has an led light built-in that works well enough, although it cast a wide narrow beam that I find less useful than the normal round beam like a flashlight. There is also a USB charging port for your phone and a small instruction booklet. Surprisingly, the instruction booklet is well-done with plenty of info.I like craftsman products, but for the money, unless you're willing to pay for quality over performance, you might want to look around. In the end, I think it's a great product worth a 5 star rating!

Helped me jump start an SUV with a dead battery on first attempt
This portable jump starter is a powerful and reliable tool for emergency situations. At 1000A peak power, it can start up most gas and diesel engines, making it versatile for various vehicle types. The jump starter is powered by a lithium battery and can provide up to 25 jumps per charge, ensuring you’re never left stranded. It also doubles as a portable USB power source, allowing you to charge your devices on the go. The built-in LED area light is a handy feature for nighttime emergencies. Overall, this jump starter is a must-have for any vehicle owner.

Essential for all car owners!
I'm sure I'll never need this product now that I own one and keep it in my car, but I can't tell you the times I've needed a jump or was in a place where a friend or even a stranger was in a situation where they needed a jump and I simply didn't have jumper cables. I travel a lot and sometimes my battery runs low and I need to call AAA to give me a jump, but with this nifty little product, I'll never need to call AAA for a jump ever again! No matter how careful you are and how much care you take of your vehicle, things happen in life that you have no control over and sometimes you just need a jump. This 12V lithium jump starter charges via USB-C, which I love because it means I don't need a special charging cable or apparatus. It plus into the same charger I use for just about every other piece of tech in my home. But it also comes with a cigarette lighter converter so you can charge it in your car if you need to.It's super lightweight and comes with everything you need to use it. Multiple options for charging the device itself, and then there's the jumper cables that plug into the device. The whole thing feels like a product that should come standard in every glove compartment. I'm so glad I have one of these now. It sits in my trunk cubby space right next to my portable tire inflator. I wish I had this thing years ago!

Awful expensive for such a low capacity battery.
This thing is only rated to have 29.8 W hours of capacity. That is very low for $150 product. There are other products in this price range with double or triple the capacity.

This little box packs a lot of power! It could save the day, over and over!
While it is early summer here in Vermont, I wanted to test this jump starter, so I came up with a couple of ways to see what it could do. I have a retired battery from a 10 year old car that does not hold a charge well. While monitoring with a voltmeter, I hooked up the jumpstarter to the battery. Before I turned on the jump starter, I checked the voltage, it was at 12.19. A healthy car battery should be at 12.68. Sounds like a small difference, but it actually means a lot. When I turned on the jump starter, it went up over 13, with a 15v charging voltage. After a minute or so, I disconnected the jump starter, and the battery remained over 13 volts. That is a lot of power added in a very short period of time! I continued testing on 3 other batteries, one a healthy motorcycle battery. Similar good results, the healthy battery immediately jumped up to 13.4 volts, and the jump charger sensed this and stopped charging, a good safety feature! In addition, I tried starting the motorcycle with the jump starter attached, it cranked the engine the fastest it has ever cranked, even with a new battery!Based on my above testing, and finding the jump start battery was still over 1/2 charged, I am very impressed with this unit, and I recommend it. I think it should be standard equipment in all cars, and make sure to keep it charged. All cars, meaning gas or diesel engines with a lead acid battery. Might also work on the 12v operations battery in some electric cars, but check your owners manual before touching any of that with any method of jump starting for an EV. They are very different.
