Blindingly Bright Upgrade – But BEWARE: Not Legal for Road Use in the UK
First and foremost: These bulbs are NOT LEGAL for on-road use in the UK. Fitting them into reflector-type housings (like on my 2010 Peugeot 3008) can lead to a £50 fixed penalty notice per bulb—£100 total for dipped beam—and can fail your MOT or even affect your insurance. With that said, I fitted these to my "off-road" vehicle for testing purposes only. Now onto the bulbs themselves: I installed these NOVSIGHT H7 LED bulbs because like many drivers, I'm growing increasingly frustrated with the poor output of halogen bulbs, especially now that more and more cars come equipped with ultra-bright LED or laser headlights as standard. Halogen just doesn’t cut it anymore, and I wanted to see what difference these high-power LEDs could make. Fitting was very straightforward. Pop the bonnet, remove the dust cap from the headlight housing, disconnect the old bulb, slot in the new LED, reconnect, and replace the dust cap. I've seen reviews saying the locking ring has a slightly different cutout (two rectangular tabs instead of one), but don't worry—it still works perfectly. Once installed, I fired them up—and wow. It was like night turned into day. The brightness increase over stock halogens is staggering. The whiter light output of 6500k makes things appear so much clearer (could be a placebo effect) but it feels like i can see so much better. Road signs reflect these lights much better, makes them "pop" even the dirty ones. So great for country roads, where hazard signs are important to notice. A quick word about headlight design: My car has reflector housings, which rely on lots of mirrors to bounce light forward, unlike projector housings that use a lens to focus the beam more precisely. Reflectors are notoriously poor at controlling beam spread, which can cause glare and dazzle other drivers. Luckily, my headlight reflector housings include a built-in glare shield (a metal ring surrounding the bulb) that helps reduce this issue. When installing, make sure the LED chips face exactly 9 and 3 o'clock, aligning with the glare shield. Otherwise, the beam pattern will be messy and potentially dangerous. However, main beams do not have this so the beam pattern on those may be unpredictable. I tested the output pattern in a dark car park and adjusted the headlight levelling dial (near the steering wheel) accordingly. Normally, the manual says “0” with no passengers or cargo, but due to the increased intensity of these LEDs, I found that setting it to 2 lowered the beam just enough to prevent glare to others while retaining strong visibility. Since installation, I’ve done a fair bit of night driving. Out of hundreds of cars, only two have flashed their lights at me—one an ambulance on a dark rural road (possibly unrelated), and another a very low sports car (who also flashed the car in front of me). So overall, not a major issue but still worth being cautious. Another note: These bulbs have a built-in cooling fan, one per bulb. If your car, like mine, automatically turns on the headlights when you unlock it in the dark, you may hear a faint whining or humming noise. That’s just the fans spinning—totally normal, but worth knowing in case it surprises you. I've also fitted a set of these to my main beam, as there is no glare shield to help shape the beam it is a bit less focused than halogen bulbs were, however, in my car they were focused to a pinpoint, so with the LEDs in it's still looks okay. Especially when you consider you only have those on a night when there's no one coming the other way. Summary: Brightness: 10/10. Incredible difference. Fitment: Easy and secure. Beam pattern: Acceptable with adjustments, but depends on your car's reflector design. Legality: NOT road legal in the UK. Fines and MOT failure are real risks. Recommendation: For off-road use or well-informed experimentation, these are a huge upgrade. But do your research, test responsibly, and understand the risks. Huge Improvement over original bulbs + plug & play!
These work great for the high-beam in my Lexus LS430 and even better by being plug and play so only took a few minutes to install! They light up instantly which is helpful for quick flashes with no flickering and allow you to see for much further then with the original poor halogen bulbs, so much safer. They are compatible with my car so no warnings on the dash. I use them most days on my commute and there has been no change in quality or performance so they seem very durable. Photos show before & after (look much better in person).

Easy to fit, bright and superb quality. Wouldn't consider anything else other than these.
The quality of these bulbs never fails to amaze me. No more candle light driving and these were put behind a projector lens so the beam pattern will always be correct and an mot pass. No issues with flickering or going off. Very easy to install as they are plug and play and fit nicely into the connector and holder.

Faulty after 3/4 months
I purchased these light bulbs on 16 August and was initially very happy with them. I even recommended them to a friend, who went on to purchase them in October. However, my lights have been flickering for about a month now, and my friend has just told me she’s experiencing the same issue. I might have assumed it was just bad luck with my own set, but the fact that hers are also flickering suggests this isn’t a coincidence. Unfortunately, the bulbs appear to be faulty and do not seem to last more than four months.

Well made, but is the fan necessary?
A very well made bulb kit for the money. Time will confirm longevity but they seem robust enough to last. Ran for 10 mins on a motorcycle and the aluminium was still ice cold, not sure that a fan is required (perhaps the fan was the responsible!). Fanless bulbs are available, even bulbs exactly the same size and shape as a standard halogen, but they fall short on brightness and tend not to offer any brightness over and above standard halogens. Check, check and re-check dimensions, you are likely to need some spacers, adaptors or modification to your light unit because of the heat sink and fan that stick out the back of the bulb. Picture shows the a standard H7 halogen (top) and this Novsight H7 (bottom), you can clearly see the deadband in the bottom picture, but once installed in a headlight this will be less visible on the road because of internal reflection science built into most headlights. The Novsight bulbs are very bright indeed and worth the investment. 6500k is much more like 6000k white than some of the blue bulbs on the market, which is ideal. The fan itself does make noise and it can be heard when the engine is off, vibration can be felt on the windscreen and front fairing of the motorbike also when the engine is off. Of course with the engine running the fan noise and vibration blend into the background. On the whole a great set, recommended in terms of quality and brightness, but something tells me that more compact, brighter bulbs without the deadband are being developed and are on the horizon. For now, these are the next best thing.

Much brighter but same pattern.
Quick delivery, easy to fit and much brighter than the halogen I replaced. They have the same pattern in dipped mode so I won't be dazzling other drivers.
