wish there were a few more famous tracks but otherwise good

this is a present for xmas for a friend it looks good and music to his liking and good value!

This is a good selection of jazz classics from just before WW2, i.e. 1938 onward.What did our grandparents or great grandparents dance to before the well known days of rock and roll music?Answer. Jazz or Swing or BIG BAND music or whatever you may call it.Some of these are tracks are standards that are even used in adverts today.This is an excellent album and the music quality is not so bad bearing in mind the technology that they had back then.The sleeve notes make great reading too.

Very Enjoyable to listen to in the car especially Good Music never die's just gets better! as I said especially in the car while your driving and all those morons driving around you just forget them Nutty Nige

i bought this CD for my dad and we both really loved it. i was looking for a set that ranged through just about all the important swing bands of that great pre-war era. this was just perfect. miller is there, of course, but the better lunceford and teagarden outfits are just as prominant. "I'S A MUGGIN'" by the latter being a real favourite. i checked most of the others on offer - this was, in my view, the most comprehensive and, therefore, the best.

The recordings are excellent, the container is slightly damaged and that is no problem. Giving the price it's perfect ! Makes modern so-called music as rubbish

It's a great collection of Big Band classics if you want a taste of that music. Grandad was super happy with it. Since his stroke he's been very quiet and detached, but this got his feet tapping and Nan had to stop him from spinning her around the sitting room. Chuckle.
