Tomba! - PlayStation

I puchased this from GamerGirlz, who claimed "NO SCRATCHES" (ver batem). I thought this was a tad far fetched, as most playstation games will get issues from time to time, especially when no jewel case is supplied.Not only did it get delivered on time, but not a single scuff, fingerprint, or scratch was on the disc. It was new game condition! This was a christmas present for my GF, and she was instantly in love (opened early :) ). The "please rate 5 star for blah blah blah discount" is a little pretensious, yet doesn't effect this rating in the slightest. Bottom line, they gave a quality product, at a fair price, in PERFECT condition, as promised.Dear GamerGirlz, you rock, and your product (for me and GF at least) rocks as well. I don't want the discount, GF had me review this, and this is both of our unbiased opinions. Thanks for the great game, we hope to do business with you later down the line.

I got this game thinking I could relive the days when I was renting this from a rental store when I was little, and believe me, it did not disappoint! It came with everything it said it would, which is a nice bonus.The plot of the game is as follows: You play a young man named Tomba, who after a run in with some evil pigs steal your grandfathers bracelet, set off to retrieve it. Now I'm not going to spoil it too much, ;)My overall gripe with this purchase is the money, for those who don't understand as to why it costs so much is for two reasons: #1 is because the game did not sell as well as it should have, and #2 is because shortly after the sequel the company (Whoopee Camp) disbanded. In short, making the game more sought after than rare.However, if the money is not that much of an issue, then I would recommend picking up this marvelous title. You won't be disapointed! :)

This is a great 2D game from the era when 2D ames were not huge. Symphony Of The Night hit it big, but Tomba was a different tyoe if game. Itwas kind of open world, with all sorts of branching paths. A great game for it's time. Tomba!

Simply put if you and your family love games, TOMBA! is a must have.Your kids will go bonkers over this one. Even adults will love it. It's got great cartoony graphics. It's easy to learn, but don't get comfortable it gets harder every level. hidden objects riddles etc... great platform game, kinda like 1995 Donkey Kong and super mario bros. It's difficulty gets you if ya don't pay attention to the clues (hint). You have to have a memory card to keep up cause it's a long game. It only plays on the playstation one console, it won't play on PS2 or PS3. I tried it and it won't work.Remember great game, with 2 draw backs, only works on PS1 console and you must have a PS1 memory card to save game progress.But it's worth it.

Tomba is a great game with a wonderful, cheery atmosphere. It's very clever in it's design, it merges 2D Platforming and RPG elements quite well with it's event system. However the game is held back by some of the 2D platforming traditions, like finite lives. If you save during a crucial part of the game while low on lives, you'll have to reload from your last save point rather than just continue from it, so it really only punishes you by wasting your time and making you load from the title screen again.Aside from that (admittedly frustrating) flaw, this game is still very close to my heart. At it's core, it's a fun adventure through a colorful world, developed by the producer of Megaman and the creator of Ghosts n' Goblins.

Tomba! is one beautiful platformer. I first played it a really long time ago on a demo disc. I knew I had to get the full game as the demo offered a lot to do and it made you want to do more. Fitting for any age and/or any gamer (or non-gamer), Tomba! is original, fun and addictive. I got 7 more Playstation classics to get, one of them being the sequel to this game (Tomba! 2). I feel that it's never too late to aquire (a) timeless (PS) gem(s).

The seller I bought it from said it worked perfectly even though it had some scratches on it. The disc was riddled with scratches including one deep one and the game wouldn't load past the "Whoopie" logo.
