Decent Book
Another installment in the new Thomas Anderson line of WWII German Armor books. I found it to be a very good photo reference book with decent text. If you’re looking for an in depth technical analysis of the Panther then this may not be the book reference for you. He focuses more on unit formation, organization, and opperational performance. It does have an generous amount of photos, usually at least one per page. This makes it a good addition to a scale modelers reference collection. As in other Anderson books there is the occasional editing mistake. For the price I found it a great addition but isn’t the end all for Panther reference.

Great book, about a great tank...
I have always enjoyed world war 2 armor, especially German armor. This book is a great tribute to one of the greatest tanks to ever go to battle. The Panther was Hitlers answer to the Soviet T-34, but also proved very effective against the American M-4 Sherman. This book does a great job telling the story from devolopment to the battlefield.Would highly recommend this book to anyone that is a World War 2 armor fan, or a person looking to learn more about the Panther tank.

A concise history of the development and battlefield performance of this tank. The photos are excellent, and even better are the backstory accounts of how this tank came into production. Lots of first person material here.

Nice reference book.
I enjoyed this book. I love books on WW2 and German armor. This is a really good book that details the Panther tank. Not a lot to go off of if you are looking for a paint guide for hobbyists. But this is a good book the history enthusiast and the modeler.

Not the Panzer Forces bastard stepchild
Some say the panzer mark 5 Panther tank is the best tank designed in WW2 more so than it’s stable mate the panzer mark 6 Tiger. Another interesting book from Thomas Anderson with illustrations comparing the panther to other tanks of the era like the American Sherman and the Russian t 34

No real combat history
Very technical, out standing rare photos but lacking and crew related combat, a bit boring

Definitely show the Panther to be in many ways inferior to the T-34.

Bom livro.
