Very impressed with my first Sencut
I had been eyeballing the Civivi Conspirator since I saw it in a Shot Show video a month before it was released. As soon as it was available I saw that Sencut (another company in the WE Knives/Civivi family) released 2 other knives that were very similar to the Conspirator the Mims and the Sache. Both had very similar features and were nearly half the cost. While I am trying to decide which of those I should get, they released this Serene and that is the one I finally chose. and this is why...1. I think WE and Civivi make the best and most affordable button locks on the market and their Sencut button locks are just as good. Great lock up and perfect detent. If you deploy the knife using the thumb studs the blade rockets out and the button lock works great. I have even had no issues deploying using a reverse flick using the thumb studs. With some button locks you get a little bounce in the blade on the drop shut if you don't time it right, since this knife has a long blade the weight closes on the detent perfect every time.2. The brilliant color of the aluminum anodizing is very cool. I got the blue and it is very vivid. it has a very nice satin finish but it's not so smooth It's slippery. It's similar to the finish on an Ultratech OTF.3. It is much slimmer and lightweight compared to the other knives I was comparing it to. it is very thin but the handle is large enough to still be comfortable in hand. even the flipper tab is low profile considering the size of the blade but it still flips with authority. The other knives i mentioned are either G10 or Micarta which have a thicker profile. I rarely carry a knife this big anymore since I took an office job and am no longer in the field, so the fact that this is a big knife that carries like a smaller lighter knife is a big plus for me.4.Blade geometry. The blade has a drop point style that reminds me of a Shirogorov with the full flat grind and distal taper of a Spyderco. The blade stock is fairly thin as well so it's a sharp and slicey blade that cuts through material with nearly zero drag.So for the first introduction to the Sencut Brand I am extremely happy with it. I love WE and Civivi, especially Civivi who in my opinion has been releasing the best quality budget blades in the last few years and I am always amazed what you can get from Civivi for such a low price. Sencut is definitely a chip off that block and I am interested in exploring more of their products in the future.

Stellar budget EDC
Sencut really knocked this one out of the park, the knife came razor sharp with the most perfect factory grind I've ever seen, it passed the paper slicing test and shaved arm hair right out of the box. after running the edge over a strop and paste it's sharp enough to shave whiskers! The balance of the knife is superb and very light weight, good for using and also for fidget fun. The action is incredibly smooth and will only get better with use and all opening methods have been effortless and 100 percent reliable.this came with the companies knife storage and stickers as well. If you're at all a fan of WE, KIZER, OR CIVIVI I really recommend SENCUT for budget friendly edc blades.

First Sencut
Amazing build quality and action. Edge was flawless; stropped to razor sharp. Smartest $50 I've spent on a knife. D2 is perfect on this size knife... I know how to sharpen. OBTW, the milled TI clip fits the Praxis and this one (second pic). Both are excellent button-lock flippers; strong and reliable.

A fine blade
My first Sencut, and I am not disappointed. Being a member of the Civivi family, you can expect great quality. I love the flat grind and thinness of the blade. The button lock works amazingly well! Opening the knife is a breeze with the flipper tab, but also just as easy to open with a small movement and press of the button and closes just as easily. The aluminum handle is simple but feels really good in the hand. Overall, this is a great design and is fun to use.

Very nice and extremely sharp!
This is my first Sencut knife. I purchased it because I have always enjoyed my Civivi knives, and I know they are from the same OEM. This knife came extremely sharp from the factory. It performed the paper cut test with almost no resistance and absolutely a razor clean cut. The thumb stud is a good size, but not too big as to be distracting or in the way. The flipper tab on the back is also very modest but quite functional. My wife who has zero experience with flippers was able to work both methods of opening first try. The button lock depresses easily, but not so easily that I would worry about accidentally unlocking the blade while working. The action is buttery smooth, and the detent is very nice. The knife is exactly the same blue color as the depiction. The blade is perfectly centered, and has no play left to right or up and down. I am very impressed with this Sencut knife and will be purchasing more from this brand in the future.

Unbelievable
The value proposition of modern knives is almost unbelievable. The Serene exemplifies that statement. It's comfortable, very slicey with a good grind and fairly refined edge for a mass production piece. It's well built.D2 steel has outstanding edge retention, especially for this price range and I know this company tends to heat treat theor D2 well. Though it's a semi-stainless steel, the coating on the blade should mitigate corrosion concerns. I should note that I haven't cut more than cardboard so far, meaning I don't know how durable that coating is yet. I assume it's PVD. The blade has no wiggle and the lock stood up to light spine whacks.I can't imagine someone regretting this purchase, not because of the knife anyway; maybe because your wife finds out you bought another one. This could easily be a one and done knife buy and should last you years. Just know the finish on the aluminum will show wear like scratches, as will the finish on the blade.
