Great for kids
Bought two, the red and blue for the kids, seem to work very well, small but perfect for small hands, plus it keeps them from dropping my decent controller "by accident" 😁

Fantastic controller
We are totally impressed with this little controller; both my wife and myself are gamers and our daughter is happy to join us on our PS4 with games appropriate for her age. After we noticed she was struggling with the standard Dual Shock controller due to its size and having in mind that we wanted to have a second controller, we opted to purchase the Hori mini PS4 controller. It feels very light but sturdy at the same time and the size is perfect for our daughter (turning 5 very soon), the colour is bright so is very attractive for kids, in regards of the button quality and response I am deeply impressed by the quality of the Hori controller as it allows for a smooth game play. Moreover, the size of the controller is reasonable for an adult and my wife, my friends and I use it as a second controller for local coop/vs gaming. The only downside of the controller is that it is wired (long enough for our living room) and certain features of the dual shock are removed (to be fair, it is intended for kids so we don't have a problem with the lack of the headphones, controller light or touchscreen - this last feature is substituted by a button with the same function).I do strongly recommend this PS4 controller for younger players.

Good for smaller hands, but lacks some functions
Used by a 6 year old. Just say fits his hands with some reaching, but so much better than the standard controller in terms of size. It works well and no problems.Down sides are no rumble/vibrate and the L2/R2 buttons are simple on/off rather than a range of movement or action. This means games such as car games are tricky and you're unable to gently control movement.

Not so brilliant!
I bought this controller for my 4 year old. It fits in little hands nicely, comfortable to hold. There's no battery or wireless option, hence the low price. However cost cutting doesn't end there. 5 months down the line, shoulder buttons stopped working completely making it useless.

Good quality
Ideal for my 6 year old grandson. Bright colour enables ease of location if put down. Now he can play with his daddy on the PS4😊

Great controller for young players
I bought this for my 7-year old daughter who is just beginning to play games that require both analogue sticks. She was finding it difficult to use the PS4 dual shock as the grips were too large for her to use the sticks and triggers at the same time, making some control schemes frustrating. The Mini Gamepad really works well - it's size makes it much easier to move thumbs from the sticks to the face buttons and also to use the shoulder buttons. My daughter finds it much easier to play.It is an official controller and so it has support for the touchpad controls, though this is through a button and use of a stick - the controller is too spall to feature an actual pad. We haven't used this controller with any game that demands a lot of touchpad input, so I can't really comment on this, though I would guess that fast access to lots of swiping, etc isn't anywhere near as easy as on the regular dual shock. The controller is wired, though it's a very long cable - more than long enough for most, and longer than the old PS wired controllers! It doesn't allow for switching on of the console, so you'll need to press the power button and then activate the controller (shows just how lazy we've got, if we're grumbling about this). As other reviewers have mentioned, the triggers on this are just buttons, but this is a kid's controller, and anyone old enough to be playing at a proper level on a shooter should using a regular controller! If there's a downside, it's that it does feel a little lightweight and I do worry about how many drops it'll handle (it's survived about a half-dozen that I know of so far!). However at this price it's ideal. Highly recommended.
