I have to admit - I ordered this for my cat. Who knew that cats love bubbles?! My 15 month old niece loves bubbles too, so this was a no-brainer. The instructions recommend that you charge it fully before using it the first time. I was impatient, so I plugged it in and used it while it was charging. The back has a three-way switch: off, slow, and fast. It comes with a USB charger that plugs into the back of the machine. There's a compartment on the top that has a battery, but I was a little confused when I opened it. It's a rechargeable battery, but the slot looks like it was originally intended for four C batteries, so I wasn't quite sure if I was supposed to put additional batteries inside. Eventually I noticed that there were no contacts for the C battery slots, so it must be an old design that was improved upon by the addition of the rechargeable battery. My only concern now is that it doesn't appear as though the rechargeable battery can be removed, so once it's exhausted its life, you have to throw this thing away. For that reason, I think this item is a little overpriced. However, it does make lots of bubbles and provides lots of entertainment. It's a pretty simple design. There's a receptacle in the front for you to pour the bubble solution. It has a series of bubble wands on a dial that rotates through the solution and a constant stream of air blows the bubbles out. I haven't tried this additional tip yet, but I've read about various solutions you can concoct by adding gelatin or sugar to the bubble solution. It causes the bubbles to be a little more firm, so they take longer to burst. I'll have to try that next time. One last thing to note: because this makes lots of bubbles, it also has a potential to make a mess. If you use it inside, you can expect the bubbles to land on the floor surface, and if you have hard floors, it can become quite slippery. Just be cautious.

small. cute. compact. but it definitely goes through solution fast and creates quite the mess so make sure that you put it on a non-slip surface bc the kids will bust their a**es is you have it too close to the ground. i realize now i should've put it somewhere a little higher and let the bubbles fall vs having it on a table and letting them fly.....oops.

Works as intended. Does take batteries and they did last for the 3 hours that I needed the machine. Not so sure I would use this a second time as I feel the novelty wears off after a bit.

Great for an outdoor party for anyone (well, the Grinch might not enjoy it; go figure). If you have or want a bubbly personality, this is your product. We really like it.
