Warfighter is a card game for 1 to 6 players. You play cooperatively with your friends against the system to complete World War II squad-level combat missions. This includes the soldiers, weapons, equipment, and tactics used by each of those nations. Everything you need to create your own unique squad of soldiers! At the start of each mission, you each select one or more Player Soldiers, equip them with skills, weapons, and combat gear within the mission's Resource limit. You then fight your way through hostile territory and engage enemy soldiers, as you attempt to reach and complete your mission objective. Every mission is a stand-alone game. You build your Soldiers, select your Gear, and then run your mission. Within 30 to 60 minutes you will have succeeded or failed. Warfighter uses a new combat system that takes into account the fire mode you select for your weapon, range to the target, running out of ammo, suppression fire, and cover - all in the same dice roll! This system creates an incredibly deep narrative with every attack. As you eliminate soldiers, you gain experience to Upgun your Action cards, play Support cards, and activate special Skills. There are 3 levels of Soldiers in Warfighter: Player Soldiers, Non-Player Soldiers, and Squad Soldiers.

Great game but you need the expansions to really enjoy it at its maximum.
The game is very fun and you can create endless possibilities to play, HOWEVER YOU NEED ALL THE EXPANSIONS TO EXPERIENCE THIS. The main game is this one, and it comes with American troops, gear and German enemies. To play with the Germans you need the German expansion, with the British their expansion and so on. If you want a card game that shows the WW2 in the tactical troop squad level in missions of long and short duration, versus elite or front line enemies, this is the game for you. If you like to play only Germans, then you are gonna need the German and American expansions, since you in the American extras come more enemies of their nation. You will still need this base game to play the others. The manual is somewhat confusing and you are gonna have to read it carefully and consult the web. Once everything you need is available for you, then I wish you all, Good Luck on your objectives!

A good premise
This is certainly a different kind of a game. I have played it cooperatively and solo. Both are fun, which is unique for a game. Most games are better for one or the other. I am already buying an expansion and over time will probably buy them all.The learning curve on this game is terrible. The rules do a good job at explaining components. But, a friend and me took hours pouring over YouTube videos and comparing with the rules and then playing a couple of times and fumbling through it. The game is not hard in itself once you figure it out. Just a frustrating rulebook. The examples at the end of it were not nearly so helpful to actually figure out the game.Still, the way you can outfit a team of soldiers with different weapons and roles keeps me coming back for more. My current game has a sniper, engineer, and two front-line soldiers in it. I highly recommend this for WW2 gamers.

Great game, easy to set up and relatively easy to play. Rulebook bit hard to use but all rules there.

fun game
Hello, warfighter is a pretty fun game. There are several expansion sets. It takes just long enough to not become boring. The dynamics are many but simple enough to keep up with once you have played a few times.

Big and complicated
Very clever but hard to learn and play. I would aslo like a better container for all the peices.

Setup Takes Longer Than Playing the Game
I think this is a fantastic game mechanics-wise, but you often lose interest in wanting to play because of the enormous amount of time spent setting up a mission. I have literally taken anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour just trying to select what soldiers to use and what equipment to bring on a mission. I get a headache before the game even begins! For this reason alone, the game deserves a massive 3-star deduction. I don't want to spend tons of time setting up a game and wracking my brain doing math about resource point allocation. Just give me the setup and go. That's it!For Warfighter Modern, there is a random mission generator document on BGG to help you with setting up the various missions. Why isn't there one for Warfighter WWII? I guess my biggest mistake is not buying Warfighter Modern, huh? Hopefully I can get most of my money back by selling WWII, and I have all the expansions for it. If anyone is interested, please comment below with your email address and let's get the sale process going!

A Card game
Probably my misunderstanding. This game is a very beautiful and well-designed CARD GAME. Not what I was looking for.It suits very much for whom who want to substitute the computer games by a more tangible one. It is very difficult to learn and sort (more than half an hour, a phase that is much lesser time in a computer war game), and pretty tiring playing. The option of group playing and defining the results of each clash are not simple either. To sum up – the designers worth a prize, but this game is for the matter – addicts only
