Works as good as the original one.

I bought these batteries as replacements for my ancient batteries (from the 1980s). For under $8 a battery, this is a STEAL - so I figured to try it out. (Afterall, from the medical supplier, the costs NOT including tax or shipping was $25 per battery).These batteries are pretty much identical to the ones I had. Work perfectly and hold their charges just like you'd expect.If you want a great deal, these batteries are the ones for your scope.

These batteries work perfectly in the ophthalmoscopes for which they were purchased. Only time will tell if they last as long as other brands but, so far, have functioned flawlessly with daily use for the last month. Great price and prompt delivery make this a happy purchase.

Should be zero stars rating. Got for Welch Allyn otoscope handle 71050 (compatible per listing). Otoscope had been working fine except dim light due to old battery. One day after receiving, 1st use was for 1-2 min, then turned light switch off, put otoscope on table. 10 min later, attempted to pick up and otoscope was too hot too touch, let alone pick up. After placing outside in 25 degree weather, removed battery, with obvious damage (see photo). Listed as Amazon choice.

Great price for this battery. I had to replace both in my opthalmoscope, so it is costly usually. Thru Amazon it was great.

These Ni-Cad batteries are replacements for the Welch Allyn 72200 battery that powers the Welch Allyn 71670 battery handle. The battery design is unique as it has two positive terminals at the top and bottom, and one negative terminal at the side. This design allows the battery to be installed in either direction. On these replacement batteries, the side terminal is quite "stiff," not springy like the Welch Allyn battery. As a result, you have to push to get the battery installed. Removal requires a "ketchup bottle" like maneuver. I modified the side terminal as shown in the photo to give a bit more "spring." Once installed, they seem to work fine. I use them to power the WiscMed Wispr Digital Otoscope.

Great replacement for an old welch allyn instruments like my Otolaringoftalmoscope dated by around 1985, and at less than half the price of the original Welch allyn battery. It came with some charge but an overnight charge keep my instrument charged and ready for months. Great product.

Works as stated. My original Welch allen batteries all died at the same time but lasted 10 years past their labeled expiration date. We’ll see if these compare.
