How difficult is this bench to put together?

Very easy. I am not a handyman by any means. These benches has been great. Very durable.

Can 3 benches be purchased ?

These benches only comes as a pair.

how tall are just the legs? I am thinking of adding an additional leg in the middle for additional support?

The legs are 19.25” However a leg in the middle wiuld need to be only 18.25” The frame is metal and very strong. I can’t imagine needing another set of legs underneath!
