Easy sprout
Most of these Sea Buckthorn seeds have germinated. Used seed starting soil (not potting mix), warming tray, and strong led light up close. Because these have thorns, I plan to try to train the tree on a fence. Will keep in pots until gender is revealed. Good luck gardeners!

Buckthorn Seeds
Haven't planted these yet, but we are in a good spot (in Oregon) to grow these bushes. Enjoyed the tea I make from dried buckthorn so much that wanted to grow it myself. Have a lot of medicinal and uncommon plants in my yard. A botanist or an herbalist would have a field day in the garden. Hoping for germination and a future harvest!

I have several sprouts started. I hope they mature. So far, they look good. I just followed the instructions that came with the seeds.

5 of 6 seeds have sprouted and are growing well. I anticipate that they will be ready for transplant in 30 days. Looking healthy. Suggest pre soaking seeds to encourage good germination.

Hassle.
Im just flaggin them one because they are little "many steps, don't mess up" things. Sand them? No, I just want to plant them. Like, give me the old animation where the seed went in the hole, dirt went over, water came, plant grew. Now its like "devote 14 days of your life to get a chance 6% MIGHT start. Do not make a mistake." But, I'm no pro, so you guys that know just read right past me.

Germinated :)
Was able to germinate two seedlings after sandpapering some seeds and putting in damp soil under grow lights indoors (60-70 degrees). I think I also soaked them in water for a few weeks I forget honestly
