Compact, powerful drill driver with excellent control
This brushless drill driver is extremely well made and performs brilliantly for its size. It’s compact and lightweight, making it ideal for working in tight spaces, yet it still delivers plenty of power for drilling and driving tasks. Control is excellent and it feels very balanced in the hand. The brushless motor runs smoothly and efficiently, and battery life is impressive when paired with LXT batteries. Build quality is exactly what you’d expect, with a solid and professional feel throughout. Overall, an excellent drill driver that’s reliable, powerful, and well suited to both trade and DIY use.

My favourite drill
Great little unit, for general diy or heavy daily use. Its used far more than I thought it would. Light compact and powerful.

Lightweight reliable and robust .
Makita has become a byword for quality and reliability in the construction , and hobby world , this is no exception . Brushless, so very light , which makes it easier to use , which means you will probably use it more often for those jobs round the house that just need a quick fix.

Fanstastic drill
Needed to replace my Bosch IXO Screwdriver which I recently burnt out on a job, and opted for this. While it is a little bit bigger, costs more and would still need an accompanying battery and charger (more cost), this trade-off is well worth the robustness and power capability from a still relatively small driver, which ultimately saves me time and money at the end of the day. Makita is a well known, quality brand so I'm sure you could find similar items by other brands if cost is an issue, nonetheless, if you are screwing a lot of equipment in to place, and in particularly tight spaces (such as in my case) then this is a god send over the otherwise powerless compact "screwdrivers". Also don't be mistaken by the size and shape, this is a drill driver so it has a clutch and therefore you set the torque to prevent over-tightening; in contrast to an impact wrench which would probably tear the screw through your equipment and then the frame. This doesn't include the other multitudes of uses this item has being much more powerful and durable. Recommended this drill to anyone.

Great driver
When I started getting tools for woodworking, I aimed at reasonable quality at an affordable price. What I should have done was top quality but slower. This is where I should have started! Great product and so easy to use. I’ve probably spent more on multiple inferior products, so do it right first time.

At last a decent electric screwdriver
Having tried the cheaper smaller so called cordless electric screwdrivers without success I have eventually found the ideal bit of kit. I already own other Makita drill and impact driver so I was a little concerned that the size of this screwdriver might be on the large size. I need not to have worried as this is a really compact unit. Battery packs for Makita tools can be on the bulky and heavy side so I decided to get the smallest 1.5Ah unit and also added some 15cm long bits. I'm really chuffed, as chuffed you can get over a screwdriver!!! The down side,,,,the belt clip, when fitted, extends below the 1.5Ah battery which means you can't stand it upright without it being unstable. Overall a nicely produced, fit for purpose tool which I should have added to my toolbox years ago. I strugle to see how anyone can be dissatisfied with this even if it is on the expensive side but there again you do get what you pay for.

Worth the investment for sure for an 18v screwdriver
There are times when an impact driver is to noisy and a drill is just to big. This fits the bill on both counts. Quiet & not cumbersome, fitting the job in hand just right. Tbh I do (after purchasing) find myself using this tool more than I thought I would in more & more situations where I use to use my impact driver. Small top unit that allows you to get in to the arkward spaces. Weight is average for an 18v makita. You do have to pull the collet forward to insert bits which for me is not an issue (makes sue the bit is in for piece of mind). Torque collar can be a little fiddly when in use as in awkward to get a grip of & keep changing. Other than that can't fault it tbh. Price is phenomenal £90 for an 18v screwdriver! Milwaukee 12v screwdriver is £100 - £130 depending where bought. DeWalt £170 for a 12v as well. This tool has plenty of "Grunt" power being its 18v & not 12v. If I had to use this all day for all my jobs on its own would I recommend....... Hell yes! Battery also lasts for ages.

Great little thing, first tool i pick up...
If you do light work and dont need the ability to go through heavy stuff this little thing is excellent. The key words here are 'little' and 'powerful' Its small and light, more powerful than you think, and is my 'go to' tool. First out the van, and last back in. Just remember its hex only. Edit: 3 years later and this thing is still going strong. Small enough to get into very tight spaces but powerful enough for most tasks. Its ideal for kitchen fitters/diyers and most light to medium duty work. I have several Makita tools (im a signage fitter) but this is still 'first out' and 'last in' the van. Rarely do i have to get the big boys out.
