Heoysn Flash Speedlite for Canon DSLR Camera with E-TTL HSS 1/8000S Flash, Auto Focus Function, Wireless Trigger Slave and Hot Shoe

I have bought 6 of these Heoysn units. One thing to note the model number of the received units is HF-582 and not TR-982 III like in the pictures but they are the same units with the same functionality. I contacted Heosyn about this and was assured HF-582 is the correct model number for the Canon unit and all the features like 2nd curtain sync and HSS and 2.4GHz radio I've verified are in the HF-582 units.I have a Godox TT685C and Godox Xpro-C which works great. I wanted a couple of less expensive flash units to place as background lights and searched around on Amazon and found this item.I ordered one Heoysn unit and tested it out as master and slave and on-camera as well and was impressed so I ordered a 2nd one. I liked the first two so added a few more testing each of them out and they've been consistent. Only time will tell if they hold up and last long-term but I'm pretty impressed. They work with the Canon optical triggering just fine. They also work amongst themselves using the built-in 2.4GHz radio triggering just fine as well tested as masters or slaves in multiple groups on various channels.Granted I can't use the Godox 2.4GHz radio trigger with these since the radio protocols are different, the Godox 2.4GHz radio protocol is different than that of the Heoysn 2.4GHz radio. The Heoysn work fine with the Canon optical trigger system though and of course using all Heoysn units they work fine using the built-in Heoysn 2.4GHz radio wireless fine as well.This trigger works with these strobes:Andoer TRIOPO G1 Dual TTL Wireless Trigger with Widescreen LCD Display 1/8000s HSS 2.4G Wireless Transmission 16 Channels for Canon Nikon Series Cameras

I’m not a huge fan of the TTL on this flash. I was shooting 2 portrait sessions in Mexico with this flash and while the flash is capable of amazing results it has a little bit of a learning curve. I started my sessions shooting full TTL and was dismayed that less than half of my shots were correctly lit and that there was a huge inconsistency in power between shots. This was weird because I was shooting on a tripod with invariant lighting and evaluative metering. Everything else though is fine. In manual this flash is a dream with plenty of power and the ability to use HSS which also works beautifully. If you buy this though plan to use it in manual!

Well built and nicely packaged with a protective case and diffuser cap. Still exploring this "Speed Light" but satisfied with the purchase. The main language of the user manual is Chinese with an English translation which is a bit off but as least they apologized for it with a mistranslated piece at the rear of the booklet.

Firstly, ETTL mode did not work with Canon 80D. The second thing i hate about this flash is every time you snap a picture it makes a very very loud beep that will trigger a very bad headache after taking 5-6 pictures(When i say loud, I mean it). I did not find an option to turn that sound off. It can be a good option as an off camera flash in M mode.
