Great trail chair!
While I have a Slumberjack chair (solid foam seat & back), similar to Crazy Creek's Classic Original-Original trail chair, neither roll up to pack like this Hex 2.0 trail chair. Backpacking with a 17"x17"x2" foam 'block' on your back just doesn't look right, is a challenge to attach, and hangs up on everything. Steel tripod stools are heavy to haul and give no back support. Those others are better for car camping - although why not just take a folding chair if you have space in the car? The Crazy Creek Hex 2.0 is lighter, rolls up to a small enough diameter to fit into a pack's mesh side 1L water bottle pocket, and when deployed is just wide enough to fit my 6' 210# frame's bottom. Takes a bit of practice to understand how to tighten the cinch straps to give a good comfortable fit, but once you get the idea, it's easy and the back (and bottom) support is very good (compared to sitting on the ground, a log, or on a rock). Obviously this is a sit on the ground (or bleacher seat) kind of chair, so if you're getting-all-the-way-down or getting-up challenged, don't try it. (I prefer the solid foam seat/back chairs for bleachers.) Further, don't try 'dropping' directly into the Hex 2.0 chair, especially if the fit is tight - kinda squat, locate, and ease into it, then tighten to fit. Best position is actually rocked back a bit, bending your knees and pushing back so your bottom is maybe 20-30 degrees from flat to the ground. Now sitting on the ground around the fire while everyone else is sitting on lawn chairs can be a bit amusing, but campfire smoke will generally pass over your head. Clearly this chair is more for the trail while backpacking and trekking, and for that purpose the only real competition is the similar style 'kits' into which a mating model air mattress fits to make a chair. The Hex 2.0 is superior since you've only to pull it out of your pack mesh pocket to set it up rather than opening your pack, pulling out your mattress, blowing it up, fitting it in, and hoping you don't poke a hole in the mattress while sitting around the fire.

Best Backpacking Chair
I bought this chair after extensive research and I am happy to say I picked the right one. It is extremely lightweight, durable and surprisingly comfortable. The adjustment straps on either side allow for you to sit on pretty much anything and maintain a comfortable posture. Every person I have come across in the backcountry has been jealous when they see me take the Hex 2.0 out. The long seat allows you to fold it back for a double butt cushion, which is nice. The snaps unbuckle, too, which can turn this into a very light sleeping mat (more of a napping mat since it is pretty thin). You roll it up like a sleeping mat, which makes it easily attachable to the outside of your pack for easy access. I've tried out a variety of camping and backpacking chairs and there is no other one that I would recommend as highly as the Hex 2.0. GREAT PURCHASE!

good for large person backpacking light
Sweet little backpack chair. I let people try it out, and the reaction is invariably "I'm getting one".I just shove it down in my pack next to the bladder and don't notice it for a second on the trail. Rolled up, it's nice and stiff, so packing and unpacking it are a breeze. It has provided a more comfortable experience than I expected on the ground in winter conditions during February. I've found a few pretty obvious ways to sit comfortably, including using it as a seiza mat (which is is notable, as I'm 6'4").I exceed the 250 lb weight capacity stated on their website (or did when I bought it) and have never felt that I was challenging it a bit. But I've seen people lean back in these like full sized recliner chairs, and that's not how I use the HEX.If you have cats, and you open the chair in the house long enough to, say... write a review on Amazon, you may find yourself engaged in a territorial dispute. This is not likely covered by warranty.

First Impression
I have only had this for 24 hours. Here are my first thoughts. I bought this to take on kayaking trips. When going ashore I wanted something light and small but comfortable to sit on. I might also consider using if for an outdoor concert type of setting. My dimensions are 5'11", 240lbs, 36" waist. The construction is of good quality and it is very light. It folds easily and comes with a strap. The padding is very thin but strong. It really doesn't provide that much in the way of what I would consider padding. I will probably bring an extra pad for the bottom. For most of what I will use it for, carrying a small cushion for the bottom is not a problem.I don't believe this can be used for a bedding pad. It is really thin. I JUST fit into this thing. If I was any larger it would not work for me. Granted, I am pushing the 250lbs limit for this thing. I could not imagine trying to sit in the low back version. Definitely go for the high back version. The back seems just about right. Anything lower would seem too low. It does seem comfortable and you can tilt back if you want. It isn't clear as to how comfortable I would be after an hour of use. Right now I give it the benefit of the doubt. To some up: Good construction, thin padding, folds fine, compact enough, comfortable so far. The cost seems a little too high. I would be more comfortable at the $35 to $45 price range. If you don't mind sitting on the ground, then this is for you.

Cpmpact
Never had the opportunity to use these yet but fold well and appeared to be comfortable. May need a bigger size for larger females or males.

Unschlagbar!
