Honestly, this kit is incredible. I managed to pick up a lovely burgundy Chesterfield sofa in reasonably good condition and a pair of Mk2 Audi seats to be retrofitted into my T4 van. The Audi seats were in a pretty poor condition with a rip on the passenger seat and heavy discolouration on the drivers one. With the kit, I simply used the repair glue and the patch to stick the rip back together and then used a thin sliver of filler to touch up the area. I then hit both seats with two coats of black and the end result was incredible. The seats were a lovely deep black, all discolouration on the bolsters, etc was covered and they retained their vintage character. I was so impressed with the kit that I then immediately bought a second one for the Chesterfield. Being that this one was a red/oxblood colour I knew I would have to work a bit harder to get a good colour match. Thankfully, only 2 of the 3 cushions had wear on them so I spent a few minutes just touching up any rough areas with filler, sanding them down and preparing them. I then got to work mixing up some colour, I would say it took me roughly 30 to 45 minutes to get a near perfect match. Because I knew I was going to do all of the cushions I tipped the entire pot of red paint onto a plate and made my mix this way, I then made a small pot of violet and slowly added this to the red to get a more burgundy colour. Once I was happy I got to work covering both of the rough pillows in 2 coats and just about had enough for the last pillow to get one decent coat on it. I didn’t need to worry too much about the last cushion because it was near perfect anyway, but I still wanted to try and get all 3 cushions to be identical in colour. Once again, when I was finished the results were incredible. All 3 cushions looked incredible and the sofa now looks borderline new with enough subtle wear to evoke its vintage charm. Honestly, if you need to repair a sofa cushion, car seat or anything else that’s leather, get this kit! The only thing I will say is, remember that this is predominantly a “repair” kit so if you’re needing to recolour a whole sofa or want to do what I did and repair and redye a significant amount of items, you may run out of of colour! With black it’s not so bad since that you don’t really need to mix that and there is plenty of it, hence why I could do both of my car seats from top of bottom easily. I think the pictures speak for themselves!

All the stuff is there. Good for repairing small areas. You’ll need a lot more filler and paint if you are covering large areas of leather sofa.

This kit is a mixed bag. The basics are good, but there are some glaring deficiencies. There ilaee enough colourants to paint numerous repairs yet only 1 barely adequate paper mixing cup, a very small square of backing gauze, 2 wooden stirrers and a very small piece of wet and dry paper. Why skimp on these cheap basics when they would make the kit far more useable? It just makes no sense when there is so much of the more expensive paint and plenty of glue and filler.

I never knew it was possible to repair a leather sofa. My sofa has been a source of shame ever since having kids and I I have kept it hidden with a throw. I found this product quite by chance, but given the huge tear in my sofa, I wasn’t expecting much and had resigned myself to the fact that I would need a new sofa. The instructions are easy to follow and they provide loads of dye. I thought it great that they also give a test piece you can practise on if you want. If there was one criticism though, I would have liked a tiny bit more filler and a plastic glove for when you apply the dye as it can get quite messy. Having said that, the results speak for themselves in the before and after shots. Overall, this took me 4-5 hours to complete (with 2 layers of thin dye). The hardest part was colour matching and whilst I used the instructions as a guide, I had to add a bit of black to get a better match. This was not a problem though as the kit has an ample range of colours, but you definitely need to do this in full daylight to get the best match. The kit also advises applying a coat of Leather Protection Cream (not included in the kit, but available to buy on Amazon) in 7 days. The dye dries fairly quickly to the touch (within approx 10 - 15 mins), but the instructions recommend waiting 24 hours before using the leather. Overall a great buy and would use again.

Bought this to repair a small rip in a leather car seat. Easy to follow instructions. The repair looks really good and is almost invisible.

Whilst we have managed to repair our sofa, we found the rubbing down after mending the tear difficult. Rubbing the area down proved difficult making the surface suffer. Instead of smoother. Using much finer paper help to solve the issue. Happy with the outcome.

This is amazing! I never leave reviews but felt i had to on this. I was a little apprehensive thinking it would be quite complicated to use but couldnt have been easier. Dries quickly, colour is very easy to match too! Great product. Thank you.

Almost impossible to use it. Can only repair a circle with 5 cm radius. Dont buy it not worth it.

Good product and results if you follow instructions ie thin filler layers and work up to surface & thin layers of colour tip make collier than you expect as you can darken but guessing would be harder to lighten subsequent coats mine are black but put a tiny amount of white tint and was perfect match first time, car seat doesn't look new however dimpled leatherette hard to match perfectly but not noticeable to most only to me as did the repair would recommend.
