Holds a Large 1lb. Stick or Two 1/4lb. Sticks Side by Side
I have always preferred a wide butter dish. Sometimes I purchase the single one pound stick and this wide dish holds it perfectly. But my primary reason is that it will easily hold a salted stick and an unsalted stick so I can decide which I want without rummaging through the fridge or freezer for the unsalted stick. How do I tell the 2 apart? I am an anal retentive Type A (and I live alone) so the unsalted is always on the left, salted on the right. Oh, and at the end I draw a small "U" on the unsalted stick...just in case.I love the homey, farmhouse look of this butter dish. The glass has no imperfections and is thick enough that it doesn't seem delicate or easy to break.

It’s perfect for leaving out on the counter. Nice looking, just be careful when handling, slippery butter can cause accidents, made of glass. Very nice dish.

Taller than Needed
Fits the double-wide butter I get from CostCo. My only complaint is that the lid seems about twice as tall as it needs to be.

Butter never looked so cool
I use the butter dish for butter. I love the design. There is a glass fence around the butter, so it will never fall off while speading it onto food. The lids sides sit over the fence keeping it fresh. While I love my new home design and applicences. The refrigerator dose not have a butter conpartment, so this work wonderful. It is heavy and beautiful designed. I am glad I bought it.

Too wide to pick up with one hand
I really like the looks of this butter dish, very clean lines.If you use large size butter cubes, it's a good size. But I can't lift the lid with one hand, and my hands are not small. That's frustrating.

La mantequillera es muy pequeña, pensé según la descripción del producto que vendría más grande, pero no, no me sirvió para el propósito buscado. La tapa se mueve fácilmente, por lo que hay que tener cuidado de que no se caiga y se quebre, porque no ajusta bien.
