First of all, I have wanted a pair of these for years and could never justify the price tag from the original source. I was sceptical when I found these on amazon as they are very well reduced from the normal price and wondered if they were fake. I scoured the reviews and couldn't really find any evidence to suggest they are, so hey bonus! The second worry I had was the size. I am a 6.5 but normally have to size up to a 7 as hardly anywhere does half sizes, again after reading all the reviews I took the advice and ordered a 5.5, cursing myself as I did it, expecting them to arrive and have to be sent back straight away. Fast forward to today when they arrive, they are in proper birkenstock packaging, they look and feel very sturdy, the name on the side is nice and clear everything suggests that they are the real McCoy. Next test is trying them on.. and they fit!! Now they say they are a 39 so I guess you could say that they are a 6 rather than a 5.5 but either way, I certainly wouldn't be able to cram feet in to a 6. They feel secure and comfortable enough and as I've read they will get more comfortable over time. So it's a long winded 5 star review, am absolutely made up with my purchase.. well done Amazon

I've had several pairs of these, so the fit was as I expected, but I do order the size 4 (37) when normally I take a size 5 (38) Would recommend ordering a size smaller. If you've not had Birkenstocks before, be aware the foot bed takes some getting used to as there are ridges under the toes. I'd say persevere to get used to it and you will have yourself some of the most comfortable shoes.

The holes on the straps were unevenly spaced which fitwise was ok but looking at them looked a bit odd. Also I found them a bit snug across the back of my heel, I'm hoping they will give slightly. I bought these as I have fallen arches and these look like they give good support so of they do the job I would buy these or similar style again.would like a prettier style though. Although I think they are a bit expensive, if they do help my feet and backache they are worth paying extra for.

They are my favorite shoes.Very comfortable and my feet loves them.Mondo size gives you a very accurate lengthwise fit. If you have wide feet you might want to go up 1/2-1 size.A good way to measure your feet is to place the heel of your longest foot against a wall and measure the length(Millimeters or centimeters). Now you have the mondo size which can easily me converted to US, UK or EU size.

These are £15 cheaper than the Birkenstock shop, so I was a little wary whether they were genuine. However, they absolutely are 100% genuine. I have worn Birkenstock’s for years and I needed a new pair after my last pair I bought about 8 years ago. They came in the original box, admittedly a little dented from transit, but wrapped up perfectly. The soles and upper have Birkenstock written on them as does the buckles. I am so please with these.Only thing I would say if you have not had a pair of Birkenstock’s before, 39 is a size 6 and I am normally a size 7 - I always go down a size as they come up big.

I was told “ when you first put them on, it feels like walking in a ploughed field, but in a bit you will love them,” It’s quite right! They are so comfort able you forget you have them on. The ridge at the front protects your toes and the sole shapes itself to your foot.

Disappointed with how they’ve last, I’ve only had these 4 months and the bottoms are nearly warn completely! I was recommended these for how well they last, I only wear them a few days a week for work. A lot of money for only few months wear, people said they’ll last years.

Perfect shoes as described. Agreed that if you have standard or narrow feet than go down a size. For wider feet you may need to even go up a size. I have very narrow feet, normally a 5.5. Ordered 4.5 and they're perfect.If you've never worn these before, persevere. They will feel very weird, but your feet will become accustomed and they will be like walking on air.Would definitely order again.
