Did you ever see the character / DJ on Frasier named Bull Dog ? When he would misplace something he would often jumped to the conclusion that somebody had stollen it ? He would start yelling, and I quote :"This Stinks ! This is TOTAL BS !"Or as a coworker of mine used to say : "Nah Dude, Nah."Some actor I've forgotten used to say : "Nooooope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope !"(oh wait . . . that was Calvin Jones the, now famous, Park Tool bicycle mechanic that does bicycle mechanic videos on YouTube. I used to work with him too. Waaaaay back in the day"Annnnyway that about covers my reaction to this sharpener.I love Cold Steel knives and have loads of them !I saw this sharpener here recently and decided; why not.Glad I waited for the lower price. Don't get me wrong, one can sharpen all sorts of edge tools with this diamond grit sharpener. The problem is there are three different corners on this triangle sharpener, all with different angles and radii to the corners and non of them fit Cold Steel's serrated pattern. Most problematic is that the smallest / most acute corner is still too large and obtuse to fit down into Cold Steel's proprietary fine teeth shape.WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT. . . . any old round diamond file will work on the larger crescent shapes in Cold Steel's serrations . . . it is the fine serrations we are buying this sharpener for and it SUCKS for those.I tried it and it just starts to cut into the points of the teeth and does not get down into the shape between the points so the teeth are just going to be ruined.I have seen other brands, in passing, that have the exact pattern so that several teeth can be sharpened at once but with this sharpener we are reviewing here it can only sharpen between two points at a time (effectively one tooth) and it is just going to make a random looking mess of the pattern AND take forever since the small teeth are so numerous. The other "nope" is that the grit surfaces on the sharpener are going to need some SERIOUS breaking in to smooth them out enough to "hone" an edge rather than cut the fine edge to ribbons with the larger "rocks" in the otherwise finer grit.. . . nope, nope, nope, nope . . .If you want to sharpen your extra coarse toothed tree limb saw . . . maybe . . . (in reality a regular file would be best) but for your nice Cold Steel serrated blade knives . . . look else where.

So many sharpening uses.
Cold steel made a great little sharpener. Opens and stays that way while in use. Telescopes down to cover the cutting material protecting itself and anything in its way.I’ve had no problems sharpening popular blade materials.Fish hooks and gaffs as well.
