The first thing to note is that there are several different styles with this listing. I bought the exotic print one with the smocked empire waist in teal and fuschia. I first bought the teal in a medium two years ago when I was 5'5" and 140 lbs. It fit great. I have gained some weight since then (sadly!) but the medium still fits well. The smocking isn't constricting at all, and the empire waist is very flattering-the bottom part of the dress flows over and covers up any muffin top or other issues you may have. The length is also a perfect ankle on me. I will say that I have a long torso/shorter legs,and I am not at all busty. If you have similar measurements but are taller or bustier you might want to go for the large. I currently wear a 6/8 in most dresses. The dress itself is very pretty. The colors and pattern are bold and bright. It's lightweight but not sheer, and you can wear it to a whole variety of events. I've worn it to beach bbqs and also put on a cardigan and worn it to baby showers and church. I wouldn't wear it to a formal event, but you could definitely wear it on a cruise or something of that nature. After about two years of regular wearings and throwing it in the dryer (I got tired of line drying it), the teal one started to get some pilling it and lose thread a bit-kind of the way a swimsuit will after a lot of dips in chlorine, but that was after a lot of wearing and not careful washing, so for the tiny bucks I paid, I definitely got my money's worth! In fact, i came back and ordered the pink! hth someone; clothes are the one thing I get nervous about buying on Amazon because of the sizing.

This is a well made dress with soft, stretchy and silky fabric that feels nice on your skin. I am 5'3 140 lbs and have a 40 D bust. The empire elastic waist that comes just under the bust line is super comfortable and is a perfect fit. Tapered in all the right places and flattering to any figure. Comes right down to my lower shins in heels which I tend to wear 3" or high being that I am so short. . The dress is just a pictured.The V neckline looks great with a necklace or amulet.The arm holes are high so no worries about your bra showing and also covers, at least for me, that little flub that's between your armpit and chest This can be dressed up or down and is very versatile. Even though this is sleeveless, you can wear it year round. I wear it to work with a shrug and heels and shed the shrug and change into sandals so I can head straight out for some fun. No fuss! I have purchased several more styles of this brand and have been happy with every one. Highly recommended. The price is right and well made! So many compliments from coworkers and strangers alike. I ordered three of these dresses in different colors, as well as a Just Love jersey maxi. Overall, I was pleased with the dresses, with one exception, noted below. As a note, I was buying this as a nightgown, but I tried to evaluate each also as a dress. Blue Paisley- the dress fit as expected (I normally wear a small and the small fit perfectly). The pattern was okay, I found it not as pretty in person as online. The length was perfect for a dress. The material is thin, but not see-through. I did not keep this one because I found the waist shirring to be a tad scratchy and not not as comfortable as the others I tried. I don't think that would bother me as a dress, but as a nightgown I wanted comfort. Pink- the style and general fit of this were identical to the blue paisley, except that this dress was cut too short. This dress hit on my lower calf- not maxi length and it would have looked very odd as a dress. As a nightgown that wouldn't matter as much, and my husband liked the style and pattern of this dress the best. Unfortunately, it had the same small scratchiness as the blue. It was returned. Black floral- the style of this is different from the paisley dresses, it does not tie at the shoulders and the waist is different. This is the one I kept and have loved as a nightgown. It is still thin, yet not at all see-through or revealing. I found it more comfortable than the other two and I think the pattern looks nicer in person than the picture online. It fit perfectly. This dress is a 5 star. As a note, I also ordered a Just Love jersey maxi. It was too thin for me to wear as a nightgown (it would have been immodest without a bra), but it was so cute and incredibly comfortable that I kept one as a dress.

I bought this dress in Hunter Green, size 2x, and was so pleased with it that I just ordered another one--and expect to buy several more... The colors are simply beautiful, material has a very nice feel to it, it machine washes and dries like a dream without any fading, shrinking, wrinkles or fabric issues. Best of all though is how well it flatters my curves, making me feel ultra feminine and sexy! This could certainly be worn in public as a sundress, or a swimsuit coverup. The reason I bought this dress was to replace the decidedly unattractive, unfeminine, unsexy shapeless sleepshirts I normally put on after waking up to wear around the house. After catching a horrifyingly unflattering side view of myself in a mirror--😲--I decided a change was needed. This style flatters my large bust and reveals my smaller waist while keeping my full, less than lovely thighs covered. I wear a bra in a complementary color, which really enhances the look. And I knew it was a keeper when my husband's eyes grew bigger, his jaw dropped, and he got up to turn me around. Yay!

PROS: I LOVE IT! I am 5 ft 4, 143lbs, 34B cup, size 8 pants, and I got the Small (I'm usually a medium for shirts) and it fit very comfortably and draped nicely. I got the one that is teal with the white flowers and lace back, it is beautiful and exactly like the picture. The material is SOOOOO soft and comfortable! I will be buying more soon! Cons: It is rather sheer, and the neckline very deep. So I will need to wear a tank under, and/or a slip. Had to tie off some loose strings so make sure you check the stitching because it wasn't closed off or tied and the seem began to unravel a bit. I am happy I went with the small, because I think I would swim in the medium based on how the small currently fits. It does loose it's elasticity overtime. Overall, it's a very affordable, beautiful dress that is extremely comfortable and flattering! Just check it over, and read of comments about the sizing based from the sizing chart.

Love it! I probably wear dresses only about twice a year...simply because I don't seem to find dresses that fit me well. I decided to buy this summer dress since I've been tired of wearing jeans...and I'm so glad I did! This dress fits nicely and feels great. The material is cool and comfortable and flows nicely and perfect for this summer heat. My husband and kids were surprised to see me in a dress today, but their complements made my day. I'm 5'6 and normally wear a 1x, but it usually depends on how the clothing is designed. I went with the 2x according to the chart, but this dress feels like it measures between a 1x and 2x. Love the color Black Tahiti and would highly recommend this dress to plus size woman like myself. It falls right below my ankles and does not touch the floor with or without my shoes on. Overall, it's a comfortable and stylish summer dress, plus great quality for the price.

New favorite dress! I'm am thrilled with this purchase and already ordered another in black. I am 5'3 ( 5'4 on a good day) and this length is perfection! A maxi dress for short girls is a bit of a unicorn so I will definitely be sharing this with my short friends. The color I ordered is the green paisley and it is a great summer color. I received so many compliments. I usually wear 2x or 3x due to more than ample chest. I chose to order a 3x and this covered the girls!! I did pin it a bit for school for more modesty but would and could wear without pinning. I read another review saying it was like wearing a nightgown. I agree and the problem with that is???? It's soft and fluid and keeps you cool. I have zero problem with the the fabric. The smocking is stretchy and not binding at all. If you show your arms, the under cut covers your bra and so do the wide shoulder bands. I choose to always wear with a light cardigan like in my pic and it still looks great!

I am 5’7”, 230lbs and ordered a1X and it hits me right at my ankles. The print of the dress I ordered would make it difficult to hem so keep Print in mind of you’re shorter I was pleasantly surprised at the fit of this dress! I have a short torso and a large chest so empire waist dresses are a must for me. Often, however, the chest area isn’t large enough to hold the girls...this dress is just right. The color of blue in the design is vibrant and true to the picture. Those are the pros... Now for the cons... 1The material does not breathe well and my legs get quite hot on warm days. 2. My biggest issue is with how the shoulders of the dress were sewn. There is a string running through the shoulder that is DESIGNED to let you cinch the width of the shoulder. However, there was an extra row of stitching that prevented the string from moving freely, leaving the shoulder at an unflattering (for me anyway) width. I removed the extra row of stitching and all is well...but I don’t feel I should have had to do that. More care needs to be taken in the manufacturing of the dress to avoid that issue.
