Modern Pince Nez Reading Glasses/Spectacles Gold Colour +2.00 with Pouch

I really want pince-nez, but they haven't been made in decades and apparently the old ones came in various nose bridge sizes and therefore need to be fitted, so I haven't chanced a random and expensive purpose of old specs that I would get new lenses for. In the meantime, these are inexpensive and functional. The lens quality is fine, though the lenses are probably going to fall out of the frame at some point (I'll glue them). They can tip over and fall off if you sweat. But they are comfortable and spiffy, and I like them. I keep mine in a business card case that I glued felt into. There are no other glasses this portable of this quality.I do wish the makers would go all the way and revive the proper old forms, but with modern materials and techniques (soft contact points, adjustability). I most want hard-bridge glasses -- nothing but two lenses and a bridge, nice and simple. Do it right and I think you could have a huge market.

Pince nez are the best pattern of glasses, they don't slip down your nose, so you get what the lenses say on the box; all of the time. These are cheap ones and by stretching the spring you can make them more comfortable to wear for a while longer. They are great for putting in your pocket and flashing them out to read a label without fannying around with glass cases and spectacle arms. Pince nez are the way ahead ! You get what you pay for and after investing in one or two pairs of these you will be sold on the idea and insist that your optician sells pince nez. Go for a small curved spring, not the Oxford pattern and cork pads and you will be pleased PS Dead Mens Specs -- no connection- carries a few of the originals.

I was looking for a pair like this for some time. It was a disappointment. Very flimsy and bad finish.
