Data Communication and Computer Networks: A Business User's Approach

Confusing review questions, hilariously bad writing and info
To start with, the new multiple choice review questions in this book are terrible. Ambiguous questions that are sometimes impossible to answer without Googling or other prior knowledge because the info isn't even stated in the book. Not to mention that some are downright terrible questions that read like they were written by someone with zero technical knowledge. The review questions are definitely not intended to further your knowledge, and are more like a guessing game.Second, some of the info and writing in this book is hilariously terrible. The book loves to make up terms, for example, "ohm rating" of coax cable. You mean, impedance? For terrible writing, how about "... the most notorious CSPs..." Because cloud service providers are... notorious? Did AI or chatGPT write this book and questions? Finally, the chapter and content organization of this book has been rearranged from the previous edition making it more confusing in my opinion. They basically cut and pasted info around and poorly attempted to add in new information while completely cutting out some info that at least deserved a brief mention. Example, they completely removed any mention of the EIA-232 standard, while adding in excruciating and excessive details about wireless technologies. If you have to use this book for a college class, especially if it uses the review questions, be prepared for extensive anguish and frustration, especially if you value your grades.
