Works brilliantly as an additional safety feature in addition to your standard lock
This is a really big remote locking system to install for increased home security, as an addition to the standard lock on the outside, this one sits flush on the inside, so that you can't see it at all from the outside. There is no access to the lock for a burglar, so it can't be picked, making the door really secure. This doesn't mean that your entire home is secure of course - as they might stumble at the door and try a window instead! The lock comes with four key fobs which allow you to unlock the door remotely. With an additional bit of kit you can also unlock using an app, but the fobs are sufficient for me! The lock needs AA batteries, which are included and you need to pair the remote key fobs with the lock, so that they are recognised. The installation on our front door was actually quite easy - but we had looked at fitting it to our back door and it's not flush and it would have been tricky to get it to fit, but our front door is flush, so that solved that issue. It works well, letting you know when it has locked or unlocked and you also get a low battery warning via a light, so that you know that you need to change the batteries, but the fail safe is that if the batteries run out, it will be left in unlocked position. This is a secondary lock, a home security device rather than a stand-alone lock, so that this just means that you are back to your standard lock again. This is basically like a deadlock and so although we have this fitted, we don't use it day to day. We did activate it when we went on holiday last week and also for a weekend away a few weeks ago and it gives me piece of mind. Most of the time, I leave it in latch mode, so that it isn't activated as much like with a deadlock or a chubb lock in addition to the yale lock, this is cumbersome and a bit of a faff during an average day.It is worthy of 5 stars if you really need to secure your door in particular, if you have flush door fittings and you are happy to install a very large bit of kit on the inside of your door. It is very stable and reliable, but maybe OTT if you don't have a similar level of security on other entrances in your home
