Incredible Polar Sardines in Olive Oil These sardines are surprisingly delicious. They have a rich, smoky flavor that almost reminds me of bacon — savory and satisfying without being overpowering. They’re excellent on their own, but also pair beautifully with vegetables. The olive oil in the jar is high quality and incredibly flavorful — drizzling it over veggies or eggs enhances almost anything. Texture-wise, they’re headless, firm, and have a nice bite. No slimy texture at all, which makes them much more enjoyable than some other sardines. They’re perfect for breakfast or lunch, and honestly work great as part of a cold dinner — the way many people eat them in Europe. If you enjoy bold, savory flavors and want something protein-rich and versatile, these are a great choice.

I bought a can of olives stuffed with anchovies and it was a mushy paste with almost no flavor. I decided I would buy some real anchovies and just use that with olives. I was looking for these requirements: bold flavor, packed in quality olive oil, and firm texture. These anchovies seemed to fit the bill. I liked that they were caught off the coast of Sicily in clean waters, that was a big selling point. So... great strong flavor that is excellent, and a real chewy texture. They are even hard to break apart into small pieces with just my fingers. Obviously a little expensive but I think this small jar will go a long way. I plan to cook up some Italian paste and mix with garlic, olive oil, and pieces of these anchovies. Yum!

Great price and great quantity. I like these a lot, high quality sardines that are processed well (no heads or tails) and packed very tight. No complaints whatsoever but just understand they are very smoky to the point where that is probably the only flavor you will notice. Excellent with ritz crackers and cream cheese, shot of hot sauce never hurt.

Wild caught has excellent flavors; texture is remarkably satisfying, dense and firm.

These are not only the most delicious sardines I’ve ever enjoyed, but they came packaged better than I’ve ever seen. My OCD husband was so impressed with the packaging, we talked about it all evening. The cherry on top was the free can of Ox & Palm that was included…our favorite. I will order all my sardines from this seller from now on.❤️

I would order these again if they were shipped differently. Some came opened and spilled. I had to throw them away. They were just in a box with only bubble wrap at the bottom. And there are no refunds.

Best tasting sardines. They are smoky and a bit salty, no fishy taste. Highly recommend!
