Compact and reliable USB hub
I am a big fan of this USB hub. I got one for free at work and loved it so much that I bought a second one on Amazon. Cable Matters is my go-to for USB hubs! This little hub is compact and allows you to connect three USB devices and one Ethernet cable at the same time. I use it for my wireless mouse and to charge my phone, and I have even used all four ports simultaneously with no issues. It is super easy to use, just plug it into a USB port on your computer. Note that this version is not USB-C, so you would need a different version for that. It is very small, easy to carry in the pocket of my backpack, and extremely reliable. I have had it for three months with no connection or heat issues. Highly recommend for anyone who needs both a mouse and Ethernet connection on their laptop.

USB hub works better than most.
The nic is reliable, the size is great, the build it solid plastic, and the cable may be short for some. However, this is the best usb nic/hub I've found so far. I use the nic, and then a wireless keyboard, usb sound card, and USB DVD to create a mini-docking station. I've had some USB nic/hubs recently that have not reliably connected my USB sound card, others that seem to interfere with the wireless keyboard, and most allow the mechanical sound of the DVD to bleed into my headphones. This hub doesn't have any of those issues and is working flawlessly.

Works great. Bought as a replacement for U-Green hub that kept failing due to it overheating.

Convenient Network Adapter
Very useful device when working with Laptops that do not have Ethernet ports. I use when in area where WiFi is not available or to slow for data transfer.

Defective.
I purchased this item about a month ago. The USB ports work perfectly. However, the ethernet port (the reason I bought the item in the first place) does NOT work anymore. It worked for about three weeks and all of a sudden it stopped working. When I attempted to return the item for a replacement I was just one day outside of Amazon's return policy. I would expect it to last longer than 3 weeks. Very dissatisfied. Do not purchase if you need it to work longer than that. 6/8/2020 Edit- I received a replacement from the seller with a new adapter that works perfectly so I am updating my review to 5 stars because of the immediate response and desire to resolve my concerns. Definitely will purchase from them again since it looks like I will be working from home for awhile.

SUPAFAST INTERNETS
Got this for my 2013 MacBook Pro retina which only has 2 usb ports and no Ethernet port. I often make large uploads and downloads of 10-50 gb and being able to plug directly into your router makes a huge difference. I was able to get just about 100% of my promised internet speeds when plugged into this. At 200 mbps that 50 gb upload will take an hour or so vs a couple of days. Having extra usb ports is great too, haven't had to use them yet but happy to know I won't have to sacrifice an external hard drive when i need another peripheral. Definitely something I carry in my computer bag all the time. Also very useful for initial setups of routers/modems if your someone who likes to do it yourself. I was able to achieve the pictured speeds using this adapter and a CAT 5e cable plugged directly into my modem/router combo.

Works exactly as needed
Running small PC with Windows Server 2012. I was able to get this unit and its drivers installed very easy and confirm the LAN driver was working as well as the devices connected vis USB. I did go to the CableMatters website and find the drivers based on the model of USB device. It redirects you to a RealTek driver site where you are forced to enter an email address in order to download the drivers. This was the only part of this product I did not like. One note: I noticed that a drive had auto-mounted on my server. Clicking on this I found the installer which then activated the LAN. Af Otherwise, it works as advertised.

Had some trouble installing but it worked out in the end... Now it is not reliable ...
When I first used this, it wouldn't recognize my 3.0 sandisk flash drive. It did work with 2.0 flash drives. And Windows 10 kept giving error messages that it couldn't recognize the hub. I almost sent it back because of this. Then I thought I'll give it one more try. But this time I shutdown the PC and rebooted with this hub connected to the USB 3.0 port. Then my PC (windows 10) recognized the hub fine. I retested it with the sandisk and other USB devices and they worked too. The Ethernet also seems to be working. I am using windows 10 Home peer to peer network system. So if you are having troubles, reboot your PC with it connected. Why that worked, I have no idea but who argues with success. I can only give it a 4 star because of the difficulty installing it. 7/28/17 update: This product is not reliable. If I boot my Asus transformer it works fine. But as soon as the Asus sleeps and re awakes, it will no longer recognize this usb device. It refuses to load the "Realtek USB Gbe Family controller" driver and thus does not operate properly. I have attempted to update the drivers and still there is a problem Whether this is a Windows problem or driver problem I don't care. This product doesn't do what it is supposed to do. So I am downgrading it to a 2 star. It does work given a straight boot up and no sleeping, but that does not meet my needs.
