I think if you are looking for a real strong coffee then this is most certainly not for you. I read the reviews and people saying it was the strongest coffee they have ever tasted amazed me as to both me and my husband it was as weak as dishwater. The beans were not a rich dark colour they were a sort of lightish brown always a bit of a giveaway as to the strength of the coffee the beans will produce. More like a 3 to 4 strength rating I found this to be and if you are liking a more mellow weaker coffee then this will probably suit you very well indeed. My Son & Daughter in law like a weaker coffee so they were happy to have our cast offs and I think as far as I know they thought it okay. The price is good I'll give it that but as for strength I am sorry but will not be buying it again.

Bought this twice, beans both times. The first pack was very good and I rated 5 out of 5. Bought the whole beans and used in a Sage Bambino Plus, ground with an Iberital grinder. Rich, dark beans, Ground very well, didn't choke the machine, and the flow stayed dark throughout the shot. Would buy again.So I did buy again, and I needn't have bothered. Beans were very dry and choked the life out of my machine. No grind settings had been changed since my last pack, so there should have been no difference whatsoever. Unfortunately as soon as I opened the pack I knew something was wrong. First pack the beans were glistening (a sign that they're fresh) but this pack they were very matte. I had to open my grinder a good few full turns to get anything resembling coffee coming out.I've changed my initial review on the back of this disappointment to 2 out of 5. And I've started using Redber beans directly from them as they're cheaper than on Amazon. Got them in a couple of days anyway and they're fresh as a daisy. Roasted on the same day that they're dispatched, which is as good as you can get. Cheaper than Brown Bear too...

The first bag I got was great, aromatic and full of flavour. The second bag I got had been punctured, most likely a while ago because the beans were stale and without any aroma, just a damp newspaper smell and the brew was dead. Brown Bear were let down by poor handling on Amazon’s part. I went to try and return the bag but found that the item was not eligible for return, had never encountered this policy with Amazon before, felt robbed to be honest. So I emailed Brown Bear explaining what happened, heard back from them very quickly and they kindly arranged a replacement. I will be buying from the brown bear sight in future (it is the same price), or I will find a local retailer, Amazon is fast cheap and convenient but there are some things that are worth investing a little bit more in. I really like this coffee, it’s got punchy flavours and good strength, if you have the right equipment to get a good extraction you will probably have a good experience with these beans.

Trying coffee beans from an unknown seller can be disappointing, but in this case you won't be.I bought a bag a little while a go. The first thing that I noticed was the wonderful rich smell. This was even before I used them. The beans are a lovely deep brown colour and don't appear to over roasted. Another plus point for a strong bean is that they are not oily.Does this coffee produce a good cup and taste as good as the aroma? I would say a definite yes. For me it's spot on. It's strong and full of flavour without the bitter overtones.The quality of the bean is consistent as the second bag I ordered was similar.I have no hesitation in recommending this company/brand.

A little coffee press for one's own use - I am sensitive over coffee and I treasure the little press and with this coffee - my Goodness !!!! what a lovely way to start a day - demerara sugar for it and just sit and enjoy

This was a random purchase to try something new. It produced a lovely smooth Coffee. One for a relaxing coffee rather than a punchy in your face hard hit ....that we sometimes need! Absolutely delightful flavour. Have subsequently gon to to purchase some of their other beans to see how they fair compared to this one.... they have a hard act to follow.

I usually buy from roasters direct but ran out and needed coffee quick.This coffee is the best bean I have bought from amazon or a supermarket although is still not as fresh as direct from a roaster

As a dark roast, I would expect the coffee to be quite robust, however this roast is very delicate at first sip, then dissolves into a nice caramel/malty biscuit note right at the end. Not sure if I'll order it again, but it makes a nice change to the supermarket regular.
