Wearable warm weather garments for women
Marie Greene's patterns are always simple and accessible -- but with a special touch. They are also always very wearable, which is not always the case with handknit patterns. I make sure to get all of Greene's books, and sometimes buy her individual patterns as well. This book is the price of two or three individual patterns, but it contains twenty different patterns. There is a wide variety of patterns: raglans, drop sleeves, sleeveless, batwing, and set-in sleeves. There are several different silhouettes with the sleeves knitted on, too. There are lace, striped, and textured patterns, and special stitches in multiple locations on the sweaters. There are also interesting touches, like ties at the sides of one sweater and a rolled neck on another.Several of the patterns are also designed with a panel of lace or textured stitch which can easily be swapped for another stitch -- like the fancy Japanese stitches we all love but have trouble finding patterns for. I plan to make several of those. The models are of various sizes and body types, which I like, but I think some readers may find it harder to judge the fit and silhouette of a sweater when it's not modeled by "Miss Average." I'd also guess that many knitters will be happier with the look of their finished sweaters than they usually are.If you haven't tried Greene's patterns before, this is a great way to get to know her work.

great patterns
I am very pleased with this book. Usually there are a few patterns I knit from a knitting book. In this book I am planning one and sometimes two of each pattern. The suggested yarns are still easily available and many are very reasonably priced and can be substituted with less expensive yarns. Many of the patterns use cotton and other plant fiber blends which are great for the summer. Its so nice to have patterns showing the schematics with finished pattern measurements and ease fit. Also included is a stitch count check in after a section is completed and notes about why a certain technique is used and tips for successfully making the pattern work. For me, I feel this book was written in a way which is helping me to be able to knit lightweight tops that fit and look nice when I wear them .

practical guide to knitting with plant-based yarn
I have often struggled with my love of hand-knit tops and my life in the southern US. I have ended up giving away many things I made that were too heavy and hot to wear in my chosen climate.I found this book while looking for tops I could make from lightweight fibers more suitable to warmer weather. The advice the author gives is very practical and the patterns are cute and modern. They also cover a range of sizes.

Beautiful, well written patterns in one reasonably priced book
I like that the patterns were well written which makes knitting them fun and enjoyable. I also like the fact that I truly wanted to make a lot of them which was a deciding factor in my purchase. Its a great value to find a book that has so many awesome designs.

Plant fiber on your needles!
This book is for knitters that which to knit with yarns that contains plant fiber and animal fiber : a lovely mix.Designs that fits lots of silhouette and can be wear all year round. I am one that like to try… So, I am planning to knit some of the garments in 100% wool and others like cotton, linen and silk. Marie Greene has a way of writing that you’ll like to read each chapter to learn from her words. Because, not only you’ll find patterns well written and a beginner can try too ! There are great tips about plant base yarns. Full of awesomeness!

Knitting Light -Tops and Tees for Warm Weather
I haven't made any of the tops yet but have chosen a few to make this summer. The sizes seem inclusive and vary in yarn gauges which is great as I have a lot of stash. Looking forward to making some of them
