Review: Wonderful Elisabeth Sladen created a legacy that will be hard to follow for other companions Sarah Jane Adventures Must Have DVD - For those who grew up with Sarah Jane as their companion with Jon Pertwee and then Tom Baker it was great to see her make another appearance in School Reunion. From the success of that followed The Sarah Jane Adventures and weather your 5, 55 or 105 this is a delightful boxset that includes all stories from the 5 series Elisabeth Sladen made before her untimely death in 2011. We have the Tenth Doctor David Tennant appear alongside Elisabeth Sladen in The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith plus The Death Of the Doctor we get Matt Smith and Katy Manning comes back to play Jo Grant (Jones) and it is lovely to watch both Lis and Katy interact as they are connected by both working with Jon Pertwee in 70s and are loving every moment onscreen. There are extra features but no commentary on the episodes which is a shame but if you have classic who and have got Katy Mannings last story The Green Death on disc 2 you get The Death of The Doctor episode with Commentary from Russell T Davis and Katy Manning loving that she was allowed to come back and if Elisabeth Sladen had not passed away Russell mentions he would have her come back an odd time with some other classic companions which would have been amazing to see. This is so lovely that Russell T Davis gave this character a new lease of life so a brand new generation could fall in love with Sarah Jane Smith and a legacy that Elisabeth Sladen would be proud of. This may be targeted for the young generation but this wonderful woman had that special something that could span a whole generation of people. Goodbye Sarah Jane Smith you will never be forgotton as long as I have your wonderful adventures to watch as many times as I like. Review: A deligtful and indispensable series from the Doctor Who Universe - A delightful series from the Doctor Who universe, full of humanity and hope and without any cynicism. Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane - the only companion who was often smarter than the Doctor himself - fills the screen with her energy and unique charisma. My daughters and I have loved this series so much that I've bought an extra copy for any grandchildren that I might have, just in case something happens to the first one! I can't risk their not being able to know Sarah Jane Smith! For a younger audience than Doctor Who.
