You get what you pay for!
This light is proof that you get what you pay for!I have tried many different types of light in the past - including Anglepoise - to illuminate my work bench (for building models). Nothing has come close to this light. The adjustable colour and brightness is extremely useful, and it uniformly lights a large area. The adjustable arm allows you to position the light exactly where you want it, and is very well made.I would strongly recommend this light to anyone who wants to light up an area for detailed work - whether it be handycrafts, drawing or using a computer.

Provides Ideal Lighting When Working at Computer Desk
I had been really struggling to find a light that would throw a big enough pool of light across my entire desk and computer screen and this is the solution, it works perfectlyThe problem with most desk lights is that they don't seem to have really changed since we started using computers. That means while they can illuminate a book or document, they are hopeless for lighting a wider area. I had looked in number of stores, including John Lewis, and there was really nothing available. The shop assistant in Habitat said that lots of people came in asking for the same thing, but despite this, they had nothing suitable. This lamp is very nicely engineered and easy to set up. First you attach the clamp to the side of the desk and then you simply insert the light into.it and you are rready to go. Two different sized allen keys and a spanner enable you to manoeuvre the lamp into almost any position. (If you don't want to use a clamp but want to use a stand instead, this isn't available on Amazon.co.uk but it is available on Amazon.com)To control the brightness of the lamp, there is touch sensitive control which enables you to set six different levels of brightness. You can also set four different light temperatures: warmest at 3000k, 4000K, 5000K and coolest at 6000k.Once you have set the brightness and colour temperature you want, as long as you down the light off at the lamp and not the mains, the settings will be saved when you turn on the lamp again. My only criticism is that it would be useful to have an electronic indicator letting you know which lighting setting you are on. If you click through the settings, by a process of elimination you can find out what light setting you are on, because the orangest light is at 3000K and the bluest at 6000k. But if you leave your desk and come back, particularly, if you have set a middle lighting setting of 4000 or 5000K, it may not be immediately apparent what light setting you are on. So frequently, i find myself clicking through the settings to confirm which setting I am on.But this is only a small point on an otherwise, excellent product.

Excellent light for all times of the day and for all activities. Highly recommended.
An excellent quality item which feels far more expensive than it is. Initially, I thought it was broken as I couldn't turn it on, but then read the leaflet and realised I needed to hold on button for 2s.I love the 4 different temperatures and the smooth dimming. It makes an ideal light for all times of the day and for all activities. As soon as I got the first one I ordered a second. I would have more but I have a small flat, unfortunately!

Very well manufactured product and well designed too.
I purchased this for my Father (who's old working light was unserviceable). The concerns were that the colour temperature wouldn't be optimal for his work, however, this was solved with the four light modes that come as standard.Installation was simple, sturdy construction and all the bells and whistles you'd ever need.Yes, it is a bit pricey, but for someone that uses light to work with, that's not a consideration.

I'm glad I read the reviews...
I needed a new desk lamp with a bit of versatility, so the choice was an LED one.Doing the normal search there was a number of choices so reading the reviews, I ordered this one.All I can say is wow. It took a couple of mins to setup. The construction is very solid and the control over the light is excellent.I wouldn't think twice about recommending it to anyone who asked

A modern take on the desk lamp
This is a beautiful lamp. Very good looking with four colours of white from a warm white to a very cool daylight which is ideal for artists to work under. The lamp is dimmable too so any permutation of brightness with each colour is achievable. I bought the bright aluminium finish .it is sturdy and easily clamps onto my drawing board and is stable and manoeuvrable through 180 degrees without altering the clamp. It is quite expensive but the quality is excellent and a modern alternative which feels cool to the touch and saves energy.

Amazing kit
This is just what I was looking for, I had seen a YouTube review which is one of the reasons I chose this light. This is an excellent piece of kit. The light settings are great. The white light setting is perfect for doing my airbrush artwork and there is no glare, which is a massive bonus. You can also adjust the brightness for each light setting too. If your looking for a bright light I can’t recommend this enough. I will be buying more for the studio.

Good lamp
I like this light. It has a good range of light intensity and none-stepped adjustment by a dedicated knob. The four colour temperatures are accessed by momentarily pressing down on the same knob. The clamping foot thickness is described as being a maximum of 2.36". This seems about right, my table thickness measures 59mm.There is a in-line switch in the supply cord.

The angle adjustment is very limited
Light intensity is good! color temperature adjustment is good! Weight is light. But the position adjustment is very limited and the quality of the material (frame) is not very strong.

Whole new lighting experience
I've been using the standard desk lamp for as long as I can remember, and I've always had to struggle with the inability to dim the light, get an even distribution of light on my workspace, or deal with the heat emitted from the bulb (especially during the summer). After some research, I luckily stumbled upon the architect light. Using it for close to 2 months now, I have to say that it's a total game changer for me. First, the light is never hot to the touch, which will be great in about 6 months! Second, there is a built-in dimmer on the head of the lamp that's pretty intuitive to control. One caveat is that I can't really see what I'm pressing when I'm sitting down, but it's a non-issue since I'm not constantly adjusting the mode or dimmer settings.Note that you may need to tweak some of the screws right off the bat to get an appropriate level of tension. My light kept drooping down after setup until I adjusted the screw in the middle joint.Overall, this is the best light I've ever had, and apparently it's rated for 50k hours aka 8hrs a day for 17 years! Guess I don't need my spare light bulbs anymore.

WELL worth the money
Ok, so I was really hesitant to spent $100 on an LED desk lamp. Given the sheer number of them available, I figured I'd easily be able to find one for less... which I certainly was able to do. However there were a few features I wanted and specific aesthetic look to match my desk setup. So I decided to finally break down and try this lamp. Spoiler alert: Glad I did. It's awesome.1. The versatility in the light is great. Touch controls for everything; brightness, on/off, and color temp. The last of which is very cool. Bright white daylight through very soft yellow. Brightness is very good. I've seen brighter lamps but not sure for a desk lamp you need it. Bottom line is that its plenty bright enough. There is also a separate in-line power switch on the cord. You can keep that to "on" and then just use the touch button for power. And yes, it does remember where you left the controls.2. The design and stability is fantastic. Very slim, single arms, not the old double fold over kind, give it a very clean look. The cord is completely hidden running down either side of the arms (you can change sides via a small groove all the way down the arm). Tension is great and can be adjusted. No droopy lights that need constant repositioning. Everything is nice and tight. The quality seems really good and the box and packaging surprised me. Not that it makes a difference with a desk lamp but everything was in a box that reminds me of a computer box; plastic handle, reseals well. Fully lined with foam inside. The base even came in a small velvet bag. Extra rubber bushings ensure the arm fit into the base will never not feel new. (The arm fits into the base and "locks" (not really but holds very well) in place with this bushing. Easy to get out if you want to but will not come out if you dont.3. Adjustability is outstanding. There is nowhere within reach of the max extension of the arms that it cant reach. And contrary to what some previous reviews say, the light head DOES in fact tilt or swivel THREE ways; Tilts up and down, swivels left to right, and also swivel/tilts back to front. All the listed angles on the product page ARE there on this light.Highly recommend this product despite the high price tag. I dont ding a product for price if it lives up to it in all these aspects. If it was $300, sure, thats overboard. But for a quality light such as this, I feel that $100 is worth it.

This light is AWESOME! I am not a paid reviewer
PIANO LIGHT!!!!!! PIANO LIGHT!!!!! This light is AWESOME! I am not a paid reviewer, I am a pianist and music teacher with eyes that are getting sore from straining from the crappy light that I've had forever. This light rocks my world. It's super cool, totally awesome, really light for 2-3 pages of music, and I'm thinking of getting a second one for duets, to FULLY illuminate 5-6 pages... The settings are fun if you are an 8 yr old, but really, you just set it to high, and the beautiful yellowy tone, and your'e good to go. I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY wish they sold this in Canada, but apparently us Canadians have good enough eyesight that we don't need lights, and therefore need to order through the states, which is a bit of a wind up. But. The light is incredible. It is TOTALLY worth the price. It is metal and completely skoocum!

Well made, very bright with versatile features
I was looking for illumination for my reloading bench which happens to be in my home office. It needed to be bright, able to be repositioned and reasonably unobtrusive. This light is plenty bright and allows me to easily see into even the longest cases. It generates no heat and does not have a negative impact on sensitive weighing equipment. Both the dimming and the color temperature features are unnecessary for my purposes but when cycling through the numerous light temperatures, I could see how that might be a nice feature for drawing, drafting, reading or writing. The clamp and supports are very sturdy and are not disturbed by the occasional bumps from the press. I believe this light will last a long time based on its construction and solid design. I am not complaining about the price and if you need the dimming and color temperature selections then the price seems okay. I wish there was a non dimming white light only model that was $40 less expensive but I am very happy with my purchase.

GREAT light quality, VERY GOOD adjustability. Highly recommended, but experiment hard with positioning during return period
I'm grateful to the many reviewers whose detailed descriptions and praise gave me confidence to try an expensive desk lamp from an unknown company. And I'm really happy with the lamp. In fact, sometimes think about buying a second one.But I wish I'd known that it is not *quite* as adjustable as I had imagined. I was thinking of the kind of ball-and-socket adjustability that my old "architect's lamp" had about 20 years ago. This isn't quite that. There are limits to how far each joint will swing. Also, on my copy, one of the joints at the head--the one that would let you tilt it away from your eyes--was so stiff, I didn't realize it was there until reading many other reviews. So I'd recommend experimenting *a lot*, and vigorously, while the lamp is still returnable.Still, the adjustability is good enough, and the light itself is fantastic. I love being able to switch from warm color temp to various cooler ones, and the dimmer function is great. Also, when I had a mysterious switch-type problem developed, the company's support was great.

a bright and solid desk lamp
AMENDED 2018.02.26The lamp failed and melted the case (photo attached). It's cold and dry in MN these days, and I "static'ed" the lamp pretty good this morning. I've been using it daily for months without complaint, and have often given it little discharges to the case, but this morning's was larger and right into the power touch 'button'. It was dead after that. I left it alone and continued working, but then I noticed the acrid smell of burning electronics in the air. I unplugged it and then noticed that it had gotten hot enough to actually melt the case. I still don't know what I'm going to do about a replacement, but I'm sure glad I was sitting next to it when it got hot enough to start smoking. It's one thing for a $90+ lamp to fail, but it's unacceptable for it to become a fire risk.- - - - - - -The desk lamp exceeded my expectations to such a degree that I am considering buying another one. The arm of the lamp mounts solidly to the table, and the arm itself is stable (it came with some small tools, but I didn't need to use them). The controls (color temp, on/off, and a touch 'slider' to control brightness) are on the top of the light and are themselves lit. It is about 1/2 the length of similar desk lamp I have, but I think it is much brighter - and, the two important control settings (color temp and brightness) persist even when the power is removed. My other lamp will reset whenever it is unplugged - I was happy to see that this one does not (there is even a rocker switch inline with the power cord). As I mentioned, I'm happy enough with the purchase that I may even buy another one.

Nice Lab Bench work light.
To start off with , i strongly recommend this product. The light is very bright, and the adjustable Spectra is interesting. There are definitely four different flavors of lighting, specified as 6200k, 5200k, 4200k, 3200k, i don't know if these values are accurate but they are quite distinct from each other. The adjustable brightness is well done, and works for me - i generally leave it on the highest setting for my workbench. The overall appearance is modern, the assembly seems robust, and not easily damaged. Here are a couple of things that i think would make a very good product outstanding.1) The first "elbow Joint", near the base does not allow it to bend to a full 90 degrees, at best it seems like you can achieve a 15 or maybe 20 degree offset from vertical. This prevents the light from being brought down really close to a work surface - not a show stopper but something that could be addressed.2) The controls are on top of the lighting head, if you have this positioned above a work area, and the head is higher than you are, you will have to bring the head down to adjust the controls, then reposition the the head back to the desired location. Since the controls are basically "touch", it may be worth considering installing the controls on the side of the light head, they would probably have to be mirrored on both sides. This would allow an operator to adjust the light intensity, and spectrum without having to lower the head or otherwise reposition the arm.3) The Arm segments are extruded Aluminum, between segments (the joints) the arms terminate into a rubber type of gasket - this is to kind of smooth out the transition from the sharp cutoff , consider having the gasket wrap the entire termination zone so that no sharp edges are exposed.4) This part is tricky; the assembly is light weight, and the light head itself is light weight - good, but when attached to a workbench, any small vibration on the bench, writing in a notebook for instance, results in a small "shake" in the light head. Perhaps if the bench was very heavy or bolted down this would not happen. Is there a way to add some kind of stabilizing weight to the head so that it doesn't shake - i don't know.5) Lastly, this is not a complaint per se, but an option request, the light is bright, but it is still slightly diffused. Would it be possible to add a spotlight function; something like an extra 4 or 6 LED's in a small circle that are very bright, and not filtered through a diffuser. Place them right near the end or tip of the light head, that way an operator could have an ultra-bright small spotlight function when required, just a thought.NOTE; The Light head swivels, this was mentioned in a review of a competing product, that reviewer said it is a nice feature and i highly agree. If the head did not swivel the light would probably be uncomfortably shining in an operators eyes, the adjustable tilt prevents this - big plus.Overall, excellent product, strongly recommend!

Wow, what a lamp!...
This is one of the most impressive products I have ever purchased. I know "it's just a lamp", but the engineering, materials and overall implementation are flawless (so far... will see if it lasts for many years). And the packaging is a page right out of Apple's book. The entire package is in a supurb looking box with a carrying handle. The hefty metal clamp is inside in a separate velour bag. Tools for adjusting the lamp's joints, if necessary, are included. The blue backlit controls work great. The reach and feel of the lamp are excellent. And the various light colors are very well done. It's on the more expensive side, but if it holds up, which I think it will, it's worth every penny. VERY well done and highly recommended!

Very high quality light!
Clearly a lot of thought was put into the construction of this light. The three controls (on/off, mode, dimmer) are easy to use. I'm partial to the more yellow light (cooler, in the 3000-35000K range) and it's nice to be able to select that once without having to toggle through the other choices. The arm construction is clean and solid and the base is milled from a very solid block of aluminum. Amazingly, the base is even shipped in a velveteen bag to prevent scratching! I was also impressed that a wrench for tightening the arm and some hex wrenches were included.I can't compare this light to others because I didn't buy any other, but this is a great one.

An excellent lamp for model building!
I have been building models for years and have relied on artist/architect task lamps at my workbench. They have been the large type with an incandescent and flourescent bulb to provide close to white light. Although generally effective, they are rather cumbersome and generate a lot of heat. So, I began the search for a modern LED version. Based on research with reviews from Amazon and other online sources, I decided upon the BYB E476. It suits my needs very well and has exceeded my expectations. It looked surprisingly small when I unpacked it, but it covers my work area as effectively as my old lamps. The compact size of the shroud and the thin arms allow it to be unobtrusive. The dimming and light modes work flawlessly. The diffuser produces an even light with no dim spots. I was particularly impressed by the physical construction of the lamp which is both sturdy and attractive with the satin black metal arms. I wish I had bought it sooner, as detail work is less of a strain on my eyes. It was definitely worth the price and I highly recommend it.

Awesome
I really love this light. I had been shopping around for something like this and most were on average 250$ I paid 100$ for this one. It is aluminum and doesn't feel cheap. The armature is really stable and easily positioned. The light emitted is very very even, with absolutely no hot spots. I love the color temperature settings and the dimming feature. It indicates that it is rated for 50,000 hours so we'll see. I couldn't discern if there is a way to change the bulb and suspect that if and when it goes out, I will just have to purchase a new fixture. I visited the BYBLIGHT website and they didn't seem to sell replacement bulbs or parts.I love the way it looks and works. Highly recommended especially for the price.
