I purchased this umbrella for my East-facing patio in Arizona and it seems to be a very good quality product. In retrospect, I may have been more satisfied with the smaller (11') size. As our climate continues to change, we are seeing more frequent and stronger winds around my home; I worry about my umbrella blowing around too much and therefore open it infrequently.I'm very pleased with the design and especially like the extra, sturdier rib that ties back to the post. It is very easy to operate, rotating within the base and sliding the umbrella up and down the elegant, curved post. The mechanism for opening the umbrella works quite easily as well and the quality of the band and fastener that hold it closed is excellent.I would caution other buyers to carefully measure your space to determine optimal placement. I thought I'd paid sufficient attention to the diagrams in the online listing and my umbrella opens fine and is usable in some positions as it rotates within the base and the tilt adjusts by sliding up and down the post. However, I placed it too close to the house and therefore cannot enjoy the full range of positioning as it bumps into the house. I'd highly recommend that if you can have a couple of big, strong folks hold the umbrella in a few positions to help determine the best placement, that would be a good choice. I am a 70-year-old woman overcoming a knee injury a few months back working alone to install my umbrella. On the other hand, it can be assembled and installed by a 70-year-old woman working alone!Fortunately, I'd followed the suggestion I saw in another review and left some of my sand in the bags while adding to my base, in case the base needed to be moved later. The design of the bags that hold the sand is extremely good. They fit just perfectly and are sturdy material like heavy-duty tarps. There are two bags, but each is divided into two compartments. I just loaded a full bag of sand into each of the four compartments and then filled in around that with loose sand. The Velcro-held openings are sufficiently large for easy loading and the quality/strength of the Velcro is fantastic.I would definitely recommend this umbrella, however consider the amount of wind in your area and pay special attention to placement so that it can move freely and you can take advantage of all the flexibility in where your shade lands.

I purchased this umbrella and stand because the price was right. I saw one similar at a local retailer for more than twice the price. I was hoping that this one would be good and it has surpassed my expectations. It is big and beautiful! The stand is well made and sturdy. We did have to buy four bags of sand to finish the base. It isn't going anywhere. It wasn't too difficult to assemble but it is very heavy. It is impressive!

Great umbrella, it is what I was expecting with one exception. The description says "please fill the base of the garden umbrella with at least 220 pounds of water or sand to elevate its stability" but the base only comes with bags that will hold sand I was anticipating using water so I didn't have to buy sand. It does NOT have a water tank. So, assembly required a trip to the hardware store for sand. I set the umbrella up by myself, took me about 45 minutes. Nothing was too heavy or awkward for me to move or handle. The instructions are clear, be sure to confirm that all parts are there before you start. I read of others who were missing something. Mine was complete. It easily swings around 360 so it will put shade wherever I need it. I am pleased with my purchase.

After looking at other products and reviews, and previously owning a similar larger umbrella, this one checked all of the boxes. 12 foot span, priced reasonably, effective directions to assemble, (No adults were harmed in assembly), smooth to open, raise and close, and impressively stable even with a decent breeze. We used the recommended 200 lbs of sand for the base setup bags. That was a bit of a workout, but so far worth the effort. Absolutely pleased with this umbrella. It looks great on our deck.Additionally very impressed with seller and their superior customer service. Long story short, umbrella originally delivered to right street address, wrong town, by ground transportation company. Clearly proven, and original delivery apparently went missing and never retrieved. Seller made good and resent product, even though not their error. Commendable and appreciated.

The media could not be loaded.  This is one a very heavy umbrella, compare to my other ones, it weights almost 3x heavier. Reason for the much heavier weight is the metal frame/support pole is made of much thicker aluminum and have a bigger diameter as well, which helps provide better stability for this umbrella even when there's some breeze, it keeps the canopy steady and not wobbling to the sides. Because of the heavy frame/pole, I'd recommend to install with 2 people instead by yourself, which can be quite challenge to assemble (I did it myself and I know, it was pretty tough to line up the pieces without any helps). This umbrella also comes with a base bag (empty and will need to be filled with sands or pebbles), I put about 3 bags of sands, which is 60+ lbs. Once the base bag is filled up, it's very heavy, so make sure to decide a permanent place to set it before filling up the base. The canopy is made of thick fabric, it pretty much can block off all the sun and UV and heat, it feels very cool underneath it. It's a very nice umbrella, worth the price tag.

This umbrella is large, sturdy and beautiful! When we received our delivery, one of the pieces for the umbrella stand was broken, and I was certain that I was out of luck with getting a repair part and doubted that I would receive a response from customer service at all, but I was WRONG!!! Customer service with this company was EXCEPTIONAL, making every possible effort to rectify the problem with swift responses to emails and staying with me until we were finally able to get the missing part (frankly, it was likely at a financial loss to the company, but they did so without issue to make sure the problem was solved.) Do not hesitate to purchase with LAUSAINT. I highly recommend them and thanks, Silence, for all of your outstanding assistance!!!
